Lorna trained with her powers every day and became stronger over time. She grew smarter and was as smart as tony stark, maybe even smarter. And she still had things to learn, but she could learn anything very quickly.
By the time the avengers attacked she was ready for anything.

There was commotion all around the Hydra Reasearcg Base. "Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack! We are under attack!"

The avengers fought off Strucker's men as Strucker walked up a flight of stairs asking. "Who gave the order to attack?"
One of scientists answered. "Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers."
He was about to say something else, but was cut off by a random soldier. "They landed in the far woods. The perimeter guard panicked."
The soldier walked away.
"They have to be after the scepter. Can we hold them?" Asked Strucker.
The same scientists says. "They're the Avengers."
"Deploy the rest of the tanks. Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit may make them close ranks. Everything we've accomplished..." Strucker orders walking over to the head scientist. "But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."
"Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins and girl." The scientist suggests.
The maximoffs all look at each other as Strucker disagrees. "It's too soon."
The scientists insists. "It's what they signed up for."
Strucker reassures the scientist. "My men can hold them."
He walks away, leaving the maximoffs to think to themselves.
