Chapter 20: Shanna vs Trebol! Final Showdown

"AH!!! HEY! TRA-GUY! What's all this blood?! What happened to your arm?! Hey pull yourself together!" he cried. "Tra-guy!"

Suddenly the floor burst open again, this time a red haired teenage girl with a half burned torso leapt into the air. "Doflamingo!" She shouted. The said pirate tilted his head up and clicked his tongue. He jumped away from where he stood and used his strings to help him levitate in the air, knowing the girl's hammer is nothing to be careless about. 

"What happened to Trebol?" Doflamingo asked.

"Shanna! Tra-guy is-! Tra-guy is-!" Luffy shouted in panic. Shock crossed her face when she laid eyes on Luffy and the person laying on the ground. 

She ran and knelt by Law's body crying out his name. "Law! Law! Law what happened to your arm?! Law can you hear me?!" Tears brimmed her eyes as she picked him up from the ground. She winced when he made contact with her burns, but she couldn't care less about the pain right now. "Law!"

"He's dead. C'mon, it's pretty damn obvious isn't it?" chuckled Doflamingo.

"You're lying!" Luffy screamed. 

"No...." Shanna croaked, shaking her head. "It can't be...." I still haven't told you yet..... I still need to tell you that I still love you. You can't die on me!  

She froze. Her mind went blank. At that moment Shanna felt like her entire world crumbled. What was the point in killing Trebol if she came back to this? She should've let Trebol burned her to death. 

"He sounded like he really trusted you. He said you'd show us what miracles were, Straw Hat. Will you now?" Doflamingo asked. "It's time to end the games."

"HOW DARE YOU?!" Luffy screamed. 

"Listen up Straw Hat-ya, Shanna." Shanna's eyes widened. Luffy paused. "Don't look back, act natural. I have a plan." Law's voice was soft, but he was alive. Tears of relief and joy flooded out of her eyes, and she broke into sobs. Thank goodness.

Shanna got ready. Luffy charged at Doflamingo. "Mingo! All this will end if I beat the crap out of you! GOMU GOMU NO....!!!"

"Shambles."

Luffy suddenly found himself in Shanna's arms. The girl smiling down at the boy, who returned her smile with a grin of his own, as if telling her, "Isn't that great? He's alive." 

"GO! LAW!" Luffy and Shanna shouted. 

"GAMMA KNIFE!" 

Blood splattered out of Doflamingo's mouth, for Law's attack was destroying his organs from the inside out. But he clenched his teeth, and he coughed, "Heh, you think you got me...." He raised his hand, reaching for Law's face. "LAW!!!"

"METEOR STRIKE!" Shanna smashed her hammer in Doflamingo's side, sending him into this wall. Shanna felt her legs go weak after that last attack. "...urgh..." She clutched her head in pain. Her body ached and stung all over, and her head was killing her. She used the hammer as a cane to support her weight.

Meanwhile Luffy was about to give Doflamingo the finishing blow, but Law shouted at him. "Wait! Straw Hat-ya!" Luffy stopped. Law crawled on the ground with his remaining left arm, gasping for air while he glared at Doflamingo. Shanna stared at Law's back. Whatever happened to him before they met must have meant a lot to him. Why didn't he tell her? Why did he bear all of this hatred and pain on his own?

It hurts. Shanna clutched her chest. All this time he has been holding all of these dark memories, hatred, pain, and conflict inside him, digesting it all by himself. Meanwhile she threw a tantrum and ran away because she couldn't handle his rejection.... She felt like such a brat. Maybe Law was right. She really is just an immature kid. I'm such an idiot.....

She watched him struggle to crawl to his feet, forming a small room with the little stamina he has left, and delivering his last blow.... "COUNTER SHOCK!" Law shouted. Doflamingo coughed, blood squirting out of his mouth. "DIE! YOU MONSTER!!!"

The electricity in Law's hands disappeared, and the man soon ran out of stamina and started falling backwards. Dropping the hammer, Shanna stepped behind him and caught him in her arms. She dropped down to her knees with Law leaning against her chest. "Hss!" She winced.

"Shanna...." Law tilted his head. "What happened to your...." His brows furrowed when he noticed the obvious burn running across her chest.

Before Shanna could answer that she was okay, Doflamingo stood up. All three of them had disbelief written all over their expression. "Impossible...." Shanna muttered.

"I could do simple first aid if I were given enough time, you know," Doflamingo said. "I'm repairing myself, I guess, with my strings, fixing the organs you destroyed."

"What??!" Law exclaimed. How can that be!? That's not fair! After all he's done, all those years of preparing, plotting, training. Only to get this sort of result.....

"I guess healing isn't quite the term here, but thanks to that..." Doflamingo raised his leg. Shanna immediately dropped Law and stood up between him and Doflamingo. Doflamingo smirked, as if he expected her to do just that. Shanna raised her leg to combat Doflamingo's, but all of a sudden she felt something pierce through her chest. Strings...

"NO!" Law shouted. Shanna's legs became weak as she started falling forward.

"Shanna!" Luffy cried. Doflamingo grabbed Shanna by the neck, holding her up into the air. Shanna grabbed his wrist weakly with both her hands.

"Fufufu...." the warlord chuckled. "I'll make sure I destroy you and your most beloved person in the world! Just like 13 years ago!"

"SHANNA!" Law forced himself to sit up, but even using all the strength in his body he couldn't stand on his feet. No..... Corazon's face flashed in his head, then Bridgette's. Please! Not Shanna! Don't take Shanna away from me!

"GOMU GOMU NO...." Doflamingo's smirk faded when he felt Shanna's grip on his wrist suddenly tighten. In that moment of distraction Luffy's Haki encased foot came flying at Doflamingo, "JET STAMP!" Doflamingo was forced to let go of her, and fly off into a distance with Luffy following after him. Shanna fell to the ground, landing on her knees and falling to her side, coughing and gasping for air.

"Shanna.... Shanna!" Law crawled weakly towards her. Her right hand slowly and weakly outstretched towards him. Law grabbed her hand in his left squeezing it tightly for his dear life. A weak smile formed over her bloody lips. 

"I love you..." she whispered.

Law's lips quivered. "Ngh...." He swallowed a large lump in his throat. "Don't die on me!" he shouted. "That's captain's order Shanna! Don't you dare die on me!"

Ah...... Everything started to fade as her eyes began to close. She can see Law's lips moving, but.... I can't hear what you're saying anymore... Her eyes felt unbearably heavy. So sleepy.....

"Shanna! Shanna wake up! Listen to me Shanna! When we go back, let's get married, just like you always wanted! Shanna are you listening?!"

I'm gonna sleep for a bit okay Law? Wake me up when Jack finishes making dinner okay? I wonder what Bepo is doing right now. Are Shachi and Penguin still playing that boring card game? Hey Law.... I really wanna go back to the Polar Tang....

"Shanna open your eyes! Please! Shanna!" 

Law.... I really...really love you.

A/N:  Oh man I spent so long on this chapter. Writing, re-writing, editing, re-editing. Over and over again! I really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, because this is definitely the chapter I put most work into, physically and emotionally.
