Chapter 20: Shanna vs Trebol! Final Showdown

"Agh!" she coughed, blood splattering out everywhere.

"Get her inside! Everybody inside!" Law shouted. The Heart Pirates ran into the hatch, the last person locking it. And Law immediately ordered for them to submerge. Shachi drove the submarine into the water, deep down, going at full speed. "Bring Shanna to the OR! NOW!"

"Captain, you're in no condition to perform surgery!" said Clione, Law's medical assistant. 

Law yelled at Bepo, "Hurry! She needs treatment!" 

"R-Right!" Bepo stuttered. Everything was happening too fast. He was scared. Is Shanna going to die? She looks horrible. Bepo has never seen Shanna injured this badly before. The Heart Pirates laid their vice captain on the surgery table. Law quickly washed his hands with rubbing alcohol and put on his latex gloves. 

"Anesthesia!" He ordered. The crew members were panicky but they did their work with efficiency and accuracy. "You're going to be okay," Law muttered repetitively as he operated on the youngest member in the crew, the one who stayed after to hold back an admiral for the rest of them. Law felt so useless. He's the captain. He's 8 years older than her, and yet he let this happen. He was supposed to protect her, yet she nearly died protecting him. "You'll be okay.... Please be okay.... You'll be okay... Be okay..."

Shanna coughed violently at the dust in the air. "Ah shit. Maybe I used a little too much force there," she muttered. "At lease I got him. Now you won't be able to escape." However, when the dust cleared, her eyes widened. Trebol laid on the ground smirking at her. She thought she hit him with the hammer, but she saw her hammer strike the ground, and a hole in Trebol's body around the hammer.

"Fuck..." she muttered. He evaded my attack! But I thought only Logia can mold their body like tha-

"Behehehehehe!" Trebol laughed. Shanna jumped, but it was too late. Trebol's mucus wrapped around her left ankle. "Too late! You're trapped!" Like a giant wave, the mucus crashed over Shanna, throwing her into the wall across the hall they were stuck in. "Ne! Ne! You're Law's little lady friend aren't you?"

Shanna pulled her arms, but it won't budge. Damn this thing is so sticky!

"Say, why do you follow Law?" Trebol continued to ask.

Shanna clicked her tongue. There was that ringing in her ears again. Whatever Trebol was saying, she couldn't quite hear very well.

"Behehehe! Oh well! My mucus is flammable, so I'll just skewer you slowly, and hand your dead body back to Law! Behehehe! I wonder how he's going to react!" Trebol pulled out a lighter.

Shanna stopped struggling. She won't be able to get out of this mucus with just Haki. She took a deep breath, and a soft smile spread across her face again. Trebol throws the lighter at Shanna. The fire hits the sticky substance covering her, lighting the entire place up into tall flames. Trebol laughed as the girl completely disappeared into the sea of flames, burning to crisp as he watched.

"BEHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAH-" Trebol stopped mid-laughter when he saw a dark figure emerge from the fire. Shanna waved her fist at him, striking Trebol straight in the center of his gut. "BLEH!" He grunted as he hit the wall behind him. Shanna exhaled as she landed on the ground. The bottom of her pants were burnt off, leaving only thigh high shorts on her.

She picked up her hammer from the ground. This time a second wave of mucus came crashing at her. Shanna waved the front of the hammer, the seastone nullified the devil fruit powers, dispersing the mucus.

BANG!

The bullet bounced off her hardened skin, hitting the wall. "H-How did you-" Trebol exclaimed. His eyes widened at the burn running from her right shoulder all the way diagonally across her torso. Her sports bra burnt to the point it barely covered her breasts. Only her arms and legs were protected from Haki.
