Chapter 5

Althea p.o.v.:

It’s been a week since I started working at King's.
The whole week was so hard for me since Aidan was always in a sour mood.

There was a constant frown on his face 24/7.  Even with the permanent scowl, he was hot as hell. I guess he was made to be a Calvin Klein model.

He showered all his anger at the files in front of him and engrossed himself in throughout the week.

I myself felt sad for him, and because of my curious self, I was about to ask the reason behind his sour mood but didn’t cause I know I would probably be fired if I do.

Today, there is going to be a huge fat ass board meeting which is going to last so long, since the jackass wanted to torture as always.

The past whole week was so horrible. At some point, I regretted joining here, but I know I can’t quit.

The meeting is going to be held in 10 mins, I and Blair are still placing the required files and other things.

I still had to arrange the projector in place, before the devil comes. I wanted the things to be perfect since I don’t want to add fuel to the fire.

Relieved by the arrangement, I quickly went and reminded him about the meeting, before he could throw daggers at me.

“knock! knock!”

“come in”. He replied

“Mr. King, you have a meeting to attend in 5 mins with the board members,” I responded.

He got up from his chair and buttoned his coat, before making his way towards me. I instantly stepped away from him to avoid any sought of contact with him.

He wore a dark ocean blue suit which made him extremely appealing, and attractive.

He glanced at me before opening the door and exiting. I guess he felt my creepy stare on him. The thought of being caught was enough heat crawl to my face.

Clearing my mind, I followed him to the meeting room with a notepad and pen to jot down many notable points.

Everyone stood up as Aidan entered the room, he just simply nodded at them and gestured them to sit down.

The meeting endured for three torturing hours, with pure dissatisfaction since the devil wasn’t satisfied with the ideas of the members.

He yelled at some people and cautioned them to submit their ideas again by this week. Everyone was terrified by his mood today, I guess no one was used to this extremely violent side of his.

After dismissing everyone, he slowly massaged his forehead before leaning on the table. His face clearly showed how sleep deprived he was. It was an awful sight watching him like that, so I silently left him so that he can take rest for some time.

I didn't want to disturb him, so I let him there, but now it's been 3 hours and still, he wasn't out of the room.

The whole office was empty now since all the workers left an hour ago. I didn't want to leave him alone there so I sat there a few seats away from to accompany him. I was busy scrolling through my phone for some celebs gossip since I didn't want to die from boredom.

I was done with all the work given to me so that I can enjoy my weekends. As I was busily scrolling, Aidan woke up from his slumber and before scanning the room.

" Mr. King, you are in the meeting room and You fell asleep after the meeting "

" and what were you doing instead of waking me up. You know I don't have time to doze off." He snapped slightly irritated from the fact he slept here.

" I...I.. felt...you might... You were extremely exhausted... So let you take a rest. I'm very sorry sir. I won't let this happen again." I said feeling nervous under his murderous stare.

" Ms. Davis, you don't get to decide whether I need rest or not. Please do your job properly and stop melding in unwanted business. I will not tolerate this again."

" Yes...Yes sir! " I quickly bobbed my head not wanting to anger him even more.

He glanced at his watch and then at me and asked,

"What are you still doing here, I guess your shift ended an hour ago."

"Yes sir, I know my shift ended already but I didn't want to leave you here alone so I accompanied you if you want me to leave I'll leave this now."

I immediately started collecting my things and turned to the gate

" Ms. Davis, it's very late now, I'll drop you " he offered.

I know the offer sounds tempting but I can't take it. I can totally imagine how the ride is gonna be.

AWKWARD...

" No...no... Mr. King, I can find a ride home I don't want to trouble you." I said denying his proposal.

"It's my right to not leave any women to vail a taxi at this time of night " he reasoned.

Coming to think of it, I felt it would safe to ride with him, but it would be a hell of awkward around him. So not to disappoint him I quickly decided to accept the offer.

" Alright, Mr. King, thanks for offering me a ride." I thanked feeling grateful.

Giving it a nod, he told him to follow him to his car.

He opened his car door for me, and I stumblingly sat inside avoiding any sort of contact with him. Soon he came and started the car.

There was a thick tension in the air. Maybe I was the only one who felt it because he was completely focusing on driving after he asked for my address. It was a silent ride, way to silent for me. But still, I didn't utter a word not knowing what to talk.

Soon we entered my street and before I know it we were before my apartment complex. I was actually happy I lived in a decent area otherwise it would be an embarrassment for me.

" thank you again, Mr. King, for being considerate enough to drop me " I thanked him again.

He nodded his head in acknowledgment and with that I left the car with exhaustion taking the best of me.

Hi guys...
I hope you guys forgive me. I was actually really busy with my uni guys. Now I'm a little more available than before, so I'll try to update more frequently.

And guys even this is a filler. The real thing might start after 2-3 chapters. It's an arranged marriage, the main drama will start soon.
