•Chapter 2•

Office time!!

Later I was up in the evening and took off to my kitchen to make something to eat since pretty hungry after skipping my breakfast and lunch.

I thought of preparing mac and cheese and when I was dishing it out, my phone rang suddenly.

Yes, suddenly, because I changed my phone no. as soon as I ran out. The chance of Amelia was very thin. It's for my safety since I know my dad will be tracking her phone to find me. She sometimes calls me at night before sleeping.

I picked it from the dining table.

"Hello I spoke up voicing tired.

" Hello, am I speaking to Ms. Althea Davis? " I heard a smooth voice sounding well-trained.

" Yea that's me I spoke confirming her.

" Congratulations ma'am!!!, you got appointed as PA to Mr. King. You got the job you interviewed for this morning. I was asked to inform you to report to work tomorrow morning at 7 a.m sharp".

" Thank you so much and yes, yes I'll be there, thank you again I exclaimed happily into the phone before disconnecting it.

I did my small happy dance across the lounge before going to devour my mac and cheese heartily.

I couldn't believe that after epochs of struggle, I finally started a new phase of my life just like I wanted.

Morning came sooner than I expected. I wanted to snuggle more into my bed for a few minutes, but I know I can't be late on my first day.

I was informed to report at 7 a.m sharp so I got up at 5:40 a.m and got ready by 6:15 since it's only a 25-30 mins drive. It took me merely 20-30 mins to get ready completely which includes straightening my hair.

I wore a black blouse tucked into a beige pencil skirt to go with my straightened hair. When it comes to my makeup, I just went with my regular eyeliner and mascara which makes my eyes look great and a regular nude lipstick to complete off my sophisticated look. I stepped into my black pumps before locking my door and went in search of a cab.

The told the address to the driver and soon we were off to King Corps. The cab driver stopped the car across the king's building. I paid him the fare, stepped out, and readjusted my blouse.

I stared at the huge building in front of me in awe. I entered the building up the courage before meeting Farah ( the receptionist, she met yesterday ).

"Ms. Moore, I'm Althea Davis, appointed as PA for Mr. King."

" Oh! Yes, I was informed about your arrival, Ms. Davis, please meet Mrs. Rivera on the 23rd floor, she'll guide you from there."

" Thank you, Farah, and please call me Althea since we'll work here together, so cut the formalities," I said.

" Sure... Althea, let's meet at lunch"

I confirmed her thoughts excitedly before entering the elevator. I tried composure myself as I'll be meeting Mr.king in few minutes.

I stepped out of the elevator to only find the whole lobby empty. It was as if no one were present here. There were about four rooms here I guess. I moved forward to the first door and knocked on it. I went inside when I heard an approval, only to notice a woman in her late thirties, engaging herself among a file of files. I greeted her and inquired where would I find Mrs. Rivera here.

She hesitantly looked up and said
" I'm Mrs. Rivera."

" Good Morning ma'am, I'm Althea Davis, and I was informed to meet you here for further orders "

"Oh! Ms. Davis right, come I'll take you to the cafeteria on this floor, Mr. King will be here in a few minutes. He'll expect a coffee as soon as he comes, otherwise, he'll be in a sour mood for the whole day. Oh! And wait I forgot to mention, call me Blair."

"Uhmm. Blair, you call me Althea ".

" Althea you got a really unique name ."

" Yeah, thanks I guess.." I replied hesitantly.

" Now let's talk about the coffee. He likes it dark with 1 sugar and no milk."

I concentrated on everything she was telling me, memorizing every minute detail cause I don't want to mess this up.

She made the coffee and handed it to me before taking me to the cabin present far end of the hall.

She knocked on the door when we heard a faint 'come in'. I didn't have mere doubt about the fact that he likes everything to be very quiet.

" Come on, don't be nervous, remember you can so this. I felt the same way on my first day too, but here I'm alive in front of you and trust me he's not that bad." Blair cheered me up as much as she can before dragging me into the lion's den.

Mr. King was involved working on his laptop but looked up shortly after listening to our footsteps. His calculating eyes scanning me again like before. I again trembled under his burning gaze and avoided all sorts of eye contact with the devil in front of me.

"Mr. King, this is Althea Davis your new P.A," Blair said introducing me to him.

" Good morning sir " I greeted him raising my head only to regret the next second. His beautiful eyes always held captive since the moment our eyes met.
There always something anonymous behind those cold eyes.

" Morning " he nodded at me to acknowledge me and turned his vision to Blair and spoke,

" Mrs. Rivera, please a tour to Ms. Davis and give her the tasks I informed you the previous day."

" yes sir."

Then Blair and I departed his office.

I don't know why I wanted to stare at him so badly. From his hair to his shoes, not to mention that hostage eyes and delicious lips.' Wait what seriously Thea, delicious lips, I thought you were better than that ' taunted my brain. I don't understand why I am suddenly behaving like the hormonal kid who meets her crush at a party or something. 'Oh god! Just dump me somewhere.'

Blair nudged me to bring me out my la-la land. Then when I came back to my senses I noticed we were in front of a different room. She motioned me to come inside. It was small compared to Mr. Demon's office but it cute and cozy. I immediately liked it.

"Thea, this is your office, right next to Mr. King's office. He'll be expecting you to faultlessly and perfectly complete all the tasks given by him. First and foremost, you have to arrange all the files on his desk and place a coffee before he enters about which we talked over already, you have to always be ready with all the files regarding the collaborations. Don't forget to be on time since he hates passivity and laziness. He might not be a man of many words, but I would careful if I would be you. Remember you have to attend every meeting unless he asks you not to. You have to keep up with the notes of all the meetings you attend carefully. Just follow these steps if you want to last, see you at lunch " with that she left leaving in a pool of thoughts.

Blair told me she would inform Mr. King about his schedule today since it's my first day. So I don't need to confront him unless he calls me.

Frankly, I don't want to meet him, I just don't see his devilishly handsome face for a time. I don't know why I just trembled, twitched, shuddered under his gaze all the time. It's like the wolf and I'm his prey.

I begin clearing my desk, arranging a few usual files. I sighed thinking about what I signed for?

Hi, guys, I hope you will like this chapter. I wrote for 3 hours with a lot of distractions of course.
