Now, I saw this from another devotional, "faith is like a muscle", and guys- that couldn't be more true :)
To exercise you need motivation and a goal right? Faith is like this as well. If you're not working to get closer to God or working to please him, then what are you working towards? If there is no purpose, then what will you gain? How will you grow your relationship with God when you don't do these things out of love for him?
Growing in faith means seeking for him, if you seek him- he will find his way towards you!! Do this because you love him, so that you become spiritually fit. How wonderful is it that God reaches out and shows undeserving compassion towards us when we seek his wisdom? That despite our sins, weaknesses, and our failures- he shows his love when we seek him? What a glorious God! Knowing this alone is more than enough of a reason to give him undying praise and devotion. This is why we turn to him and surrender completely, never forget that :)
We could be doing all the right things and still be completely wrong. The Ephesians had done everything right- they debated the heretics, they attended church, they practiced the right doctrine- but they lost their love for God. They did all these things in vain, and we see this talked about in the book of revelation, things must not be this way.
Tonight, I pray that you learn to seek Christ, our God unconditionally. I pray that through your troubles that you will not grow weak in faith. Through suffering, perseverance is produced- so because of this I pray that my brothers and sisters in Christ put their life in Gods hands, and trust that through tough times- whether it be doubt or persecution- or anything else- that they come out of it having become better because of it. In Yeshua's name, Amen 🖤🤎🤍🙏🏻
