after katsuki told me about her story, i just couldn't help but feel like i wanted to protect her. it sounds stupid even for me, since we met accidentally because of my stupid mistake. but i just found myself still wanting to talk to her. even my teammates told me i seemed to play a bit better whenever i texted before we practiced.
but why?
volleyball was the only thing that should be in my head, i told myself that. but somehow, katsuki seiren started to drill herself in. it's only been a week and a few days, if not two weeks, since i met her, but i could tell there was something different about her.
a knock on my bedroom door sounded, so i immediately got up from laying down on my bed. i opened the door, only to be met by my brother.
"kourai, mum said to sleep already, you should be taking a rest before your big day tomorrow. youth camp? remember?" my brother said, so i widened my eyes and nodded.
"that's right! i almost forgot i'll be kicking those other guys' asses and they'll be surprised when they see my abilities!" i enthusiastically said, looking forward to the day after tonight.
"yeah, sure. whatever. i'm going,"
as he closed the door to my bedroom, i instantly remembered that i was in the middle of talking to katsuki when i told her i had to do something.
what was it again? where was i? oh, right! matsui.

my heart pounded against my chest as i exited my messages tab with matsui. i was disgusted with him and i was worried for katsuki, but what made me even more nervous was telling one lie that might just haunt me after all of this.
i just told him she's my girlfriend, without even realizing how heavy those words meant.
what did i even say?! i haven't even dated at least once in my life to know what that means!
to what extent is my stupidity?
deciding to just messaging a simple good night to katsuki to save myself from embarrassment, i turned off my phone and decided to call it a day.
