Robots: an automated machine created by replicating the human structure to perform tasks that were deemed impossible for humans to carry out. A separate entity made for the purpose of industrial revolution.
"On today's news, the genius professor has did it again. A new upgrade is made in which it'll allow the robots to work at an increased efficiency of 160%. Scientists are dying to know the theory and works behind this phenomenal discovery. These items will be sold at stores for a cheaper price than the previous models, so step right up and get your hands on this invaluable product!"
Clear blue skies and a gentle breeze flowing from the west. A beautiful haven made for people. The vast majority of trees in the area had the scenery shine a very concentrated green effect onto the eyes. It was a fascinating sight to behold that nature-lovers would go crazy for if they had the chance to lay their eyes on it. Yet, the place was deserted. No vital signs of human life in the vicinity, just emotionless objects around.
"Altarna Delevora."
My name was called out. I lifted my head from my slumped state on the desk and raised my hand for the teacher to see. My homeroom teacher clicked his tongue and resumed taking the rest of the class's attendance. I stared intently into the palm of my right hand and let out a sigh. I looked outside the window, and dozed off into the world of my imaginations even if I knew that it doesn't exist.
As the first period bell had rung, the students shuffled out of the classroom to get to their next classes. I followed suit, only to be blocked by three boys- a leader and his two lackeys- obviously wanting to stall the time so that I would be late for my next class.
Leader: "Ho? Where do you think you're going?"
Alt: "I am only heading for my next class, so I do not have the time to deal with humans."
I tried going around him but his lackeys made a fortitude that I couldn't have possibly phase through without using my full force.
Lackey 1: "Oi, you hadn't let the boss finish what he said."
Alt: "I am afraid that the time provided for us is limited, so I would appreciate it if I could just head for my first period class before I am marked as late."
Leader: "Who gave you the right to speak that kind of tone to us? And isn't it bad manners to leave before letting someone finish talking."
Alt: "I am only speaking in a manner that was programmed into my system and according to the regulations of the school, students should be punctual when attending classes. Simple small talk is not excusable when held into account with the rules presented. Now I should take my leave before I am late."
Lackey 2: "We're not done with you yet!"
Leader: "Let him go. We'll deal with that smartass later."
I barely made it for the first lesson of the day, one of the easiest I should say, Mathematics. Simple calculus and workings were already integrated into my system, so I naturally would achieve 100% on every assignments and tests handed out. Normally, praise would be given to anyone who succeeded in accomplishing such a feat, but if it was a robot, then it will all just be seen as normal and enmity may also arise.
Math class was just as any other day, indifferent from the rest. School went on as usual, a routine that I take everyday. I stood up and walked to my next class. On the way there, I passed by a student handing out flyers for a live show dedicated by the school's Light Music club.
Student: "Please come to the Light Music club's live show. It will be held later after school at the auditorium. We appreciate it if you could come cheer for them!"
I never really had any interest in music but on occasions like these, I kept on appearing for their music, so I greeted the student and grabbed a flyer to show my courtesy towards their hard work. I waited out for the rest of the day until it was the time for the show to start.
As my last set of classmates packed up their stuff to leave, I got up from my seat and went to the auditorium, where the live show will be held at. I looked up towards the stage and there, the crew members stood, rehearsing a bit for their show. The group consisted of 4 members: the vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and bassist. I watched as the four of them prepared themselves, up until when one of the members saw me standing there far off into the distance. Three of them looked at me with disgust, full on their face but they hid it with caution as to not break their image. Although, the drummer approached me with no sense of hatred nor unease.
Drummer: "Thanks for coming to see our show once again Del-V. It really makes me happy when someone watches us perform."
Alt: "My pleasure to be of help. Music is difficult to reproduce without proper training, so I find it very inspirational when all of you are trying hard for this."
The person who came up to me, Leliva Servillia, was the only one out of the group who accepted me with open arms. Despite the glares from the other members, she did not care if I was a robot or not. The niceness she gave me, I could never find anything more unique than that. I was seen as scrap junk to other people, but for her, she treated me like how she treated others: with kindness and respect. This was possibly my true ulterior motive as to attend their live shows.
Leliva: "The show won't be starting until later since we're still preparing the stage, so why not you take a walk around for now. We'll be done in around 10 minutes, so be sure to come by then."
It was true. My classes ended a little bit too early, so I ended up coming earlier than the actual time of the event. I had extra time on my hands so I decided to take up Leliva's suggestion and take a stroll around the school building.
