Through the Years (poem)

May 29 when we first met
It seems that saturday night was set
I knew love at first sight isn't true
And i never thought it would be you

But you're staring at me smiling
I can feel my heart loudly beating
My friend approached you
You were held captive by time looking at me

Somehow that night was different
My life's most wonderful event
Day and night you're on my mind
But deep inside I knew I'm just being blind

We became friends real quick
And so months after, our feelings clicked
I never thought it felt like this
To love and be loved is a bliss

We've been through ups and downs
Together, through smiles and frowns
With pain we grew and matured
Your love made me feel secured

I'm so glad you gently held my heart
I promise that we will never part
Through the years we'll always be together
I hope our love really last forever
