Band geek.
~•~(Julia's POV) ~•~
Lables. Aren't they fun? That was sarcasm by the way. My name is Julia Murray, and I just moved to a new town, with a brand new school. And, as to be expected, there are labels everywhere. The nerds, jocks, populars, emos, the list goes on and on. Which one am I, you ask? Well, I fall under the category of band geek. And today is the day I start out as the newest percussionist at Danny Jones Middle School.

I walked into the school office and was greeted by the two vice principals. One was a really big guy who was rather sweaty, and the other was an uptight looking woman with huge heels and a little too much makeup. "Hello. Welcome to DJMS." The man said. Is he... Sweating? Like, through the shirt? Thaaaaaat's nice. "I'm Mr.Hamilton, and this is Ms. Carrie." he said. And since I really didn't want to shake his hand, I went for Ms.Carrie's. However, she had this bone crushing grip which made me regret it. As soon as she let go, I tried not to grasp my hand. "Hi. I'm Julia." I gasped out as my rather important body part throbbed in pain. "Well, Julia, first block is almost over, so you'll just have to meet that class tomorrow. Right now, you should head to your 2nd block class. Don't worry about your backpack, your locker needs to be cleaned out today anyways so you'll be fine. I hope you have a great time at Danny Jones! And remember, nobody beats a bulldog!" I forced a smile and trudged down the hall. Once I was out of their sights, I grabbed my head and groaned. "First off, he needs a man bra and some deodorant body wash. And she needs to stop treating her face like a canvas and I can't even imagine the spinal problems that will develop over time with those heels! And nobody beats a bulldog?! Seriously. And how bad would my locker be, to make them have to personally clean it out!!??" I drew in a breath after I finished ranting, and suddenly noticed a dainty Asian seventh grader (I'm in eighth grade) about ten feet away. She stared at me slightly concerned, and began backing away slowly. 'Great. I totally nailed this first impression thing.'

I finally looked down at my schedule, and noticed I had band second block. 'Yay! Something I'll enjoy!!'

I had been put into the school's top band by reccomendation of my old school. As I walked in awkwardly, everyone's eyes fell on me. There were two band directors, Mr. Beachum, and Mrs. Henderson. There was also a percussion director, Mr. Smith. He gathered all the percussionists to the percussion instruments storage room just to welcome me, which was pretty nice. "Hello, Julia. I'm Mr. Smith, and this is Abby, (he points to a girl with long blonde ombre hair) Karissa, (another girl with messy brunette hair.) Sydney, (The girl from earlier. She seems pretty shy) Max, (A short boy with blonde hair) Obsaivie, (A girl around the same height as Sydney, with glasses and short hair.) Nadya, (A really tall girl, wearing a basketball Jersey, and was probably on the team.) Brian, (A short boy with stereotypical anime boy hair.) Camila, (A girl around the same heights as Brian, with beautiful long hair) and last but not least, Lisandro. My gaze caught on the boy's weird hair. He was Hispanic, and kinda looked like a player. But then he smiled, revealing a set of braces, which lessened his womanizer appearance and if anything made him rather adorable. Karissa spoke up jokingly, "You best avoid Lasagna over there. He's a natural player. Everyone else laughed as Lisandro tried to deny it. "I am not a player-" Abby pitched in, "A leopard can't change its spots." Lisandro smiled a Cheshire grin, and smoothed his hair back. (WTF did he use on his hair to make it like that anyway.) "Well, then I'm the finest leopard in the forest." Mr. Smith rolled his eyes in amusement and ushered everyone out the door, then handed me a packet of the songs they were working on for the upcoming concert. "I've heard you're really good, so why don't you join Lisandro on snare drum. And don't worry, that leopard is more like a puppy if anything." he walked off. 'Well this school year is going to be really interesting.'
