Your POV
"Pretty sure I got everybody."
Peter.
There he was. My heart started to race, my legs wouldn't move. I was paralyzed by my emotions. I couldn't stop my thinking. My breathing quickened.
"Peter...?" I croaked. He turned around.
"That's me- Y/N?" He stared at me, speechless. I probably looked like a mess but him, he was looking amazing. I couldn't take it. My legs gave away and I fell to the ground. I broke down crying, having a small panic attack. Peter frowned and I felt the woosh of wind. Suddenly I was in his arms. My cheek felt weird. As if something touched it. Peter probably did. I don't know what he did. Oh god, I'm a complete mess. Peter's seeing me like this. I kept crying into his shirt anyways. He hugged me tightly. I wanted to stay like this forever.
"I-I'm sorry, P-peter," I choked out. Peter squeezed me for a second.
"Shh, there's nothing to be sorry for," Peter whispered. It relaxed me a little and the tears lessened.
"I never went b-back home," I hiccuped.
"It's okay, buttercup. It's okay," he assured me. The tears dried and all that could be heard were sniffles and hiccups. Buttercup sounded familiar. Where have I heard it before? Peter started moving. He lifted my chin up so he could see my face. He put his forehead against mine.
I really wanted to kiss him. I don't know what came over me but something did. I leaned forward and I could see him start to until I heard Hank clap. I immediately looked away and saw Jean. She smirked. Peter put me down but I stayed by his side, not wanting for him to leave like before. I felt his hand grab mine softly. I let myself smile a little and I squeezed his hand.
"Professer X isn't here. He was taken. We'll be bringing you to a backup academy. Do not freak out. We'll all figure this out together," Hank explained. I frowned and let go of Peter's hand. What am I doing? I haven't seen him in months. I shouldn't be trying to kiss him or holding his hand. I don't even know what changes he's gone through. Peter noticed and his shoulders dropped.
"You okay, Y/N?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Can we talk later?" I looked up at him. His mouth opened slightly. He understood what I meant.
"Yeah, yeah," he whispered. I looked back to Hank. He was still talking to the kids, telling them to sit down together in a circle shape and wait for further instructions. He walked back over to us. Specifically Peter, Jean, Kurt, Scott, Raven, Moira, and I.
"We need to come up with a plan and quickly," Hank grumbled.
"Then let's get started, shall we?" Peter suggested.
"We shall."
