Evelyn stared the kwami down. There was no way she was going to let another Queen Disaster happen, even if it meant there was going to be a little voice in her head for the rest of time saying but... what if?
What if you could make a difference? What if all those issues you see in this fractured world could be alleviated, even just the tiniest bit? You know how much the press hangs onto Ladybug's words. You know how much she influences art and music. C'mon, you've got to at least see what the costume looks like!
Evelyn shook her head, disposing of the voice. She stood up and reached for her bag again, grabbing the box and the bracelet.
"C'mon," she said, purposefully keeping her head turned away so the creature could not see her eyes. "If I walk street-by-street, there's a chance we can find Ladybug or Chat Noir. They're always zipping around, after all. Failing that, there's an akuma attack at least once a week, if not more. "
"Thank you." Crinkll beamed. The kwami zipped into the bracelet and evaporated. Evelyn startled. She hadn't quite gotten used to seeing magic right in front of her eyes, but of the things that happened today, it was on the less odd side of the spectrum.
There was only one piece of the puzzle that Evelyn missed, even though it was crucial. There were two Ladybugs in the skies today.
(Note: I know that my chapters aren't very long, but I need it for this plot arc. Once I set the stage and really dive deep into my character, they'll get longer and change POV less often. Truth be told, the only reason I'm not using third omniscient/limited is because I don't feel skilled enough yet. Also, none of my characters have really been in the same place with other important characters yet.)
