CHAPTER 18

Three days have passed and somehow, Rance's anger subsided. He even told her that they would have a guest today, and she must prepare.

After they ate their breakfast, Caileigh decided to fix herself. She wore a light blue flowy dress that reached her knees. Her hair was in a single braid with some of the strands hanging on the side of her face.

After fixing herself, she decided to help the maids in preparing the table.

She could feel the awkward atmosphere that surrounds them. She would sometimes caught a maid glaring at her, some looks at her disgusted. Some are pitying her, and some are worried.

"Anak, hindi mo na kailangan tumulong, akin na yan" sambit ni Nanay Chichay at kinuha ang platong bitbit ng dalaga.

"Kaya ko naman po, tyaka lagi naman po akong tumutulong sa inyo eh"

Napatigil si Caileigh sa ginagawa nang makitang may tumigil na sasakyan. She was waiting for that person to step out of the car, but Rance already called her

"Caileigh, let's both welcome our guest" sambit nito. Kinuha ni Rance ang kamay ni Caileigh at iniangkla ito sa braso nya.

Nang buksan ni Rance ang pinto ay tila ba nanigas at natuod si Caileigh sa kinatatayuan.

Her heart was pounding really fast as the stared at the guest

"Hi Caileigh" sambit ng bisita

Ngumiti lang si Caileigh and she slightly bowed her head.

"Please, come in, Kimberly"

Iginiya ni Rance ang dalaga papunta sa dining table

Habang inaalalayan ni Rance si Caileigh na makaupo ay ay ramdam ni Caileigh na nakamasid sa bawat galaw nila si Kimberly

Nang maka upo na si Rance ay nagsalita na si Kimberly "You know what, Rance, I envy your married life. Just by looking at the both of you, I can say that you have a perfect relationship"

'Yeah, right, bitch. If I'm not mistaken, you are the one who sent Rance the photos'

"Well, thank you. I'll pray for your perfect relationship someday"

They were both laughing, but Caileigh is trying hard to catch up with them, resisting the urge to kill the woman in front of her

Every minute that was passing is making Caileigh feel suffocated, it's getting harder and harder to swallow

"oh, before I forgot." Kimberly took something from her sling bag, then handed an envelop to Rance "I would be hosting a ball in La Ferina Hotel, and I'm inviting you guys. It would be a masquerade themed party so you guys would be safe from paparazzi, and the name of guest wouldn't be publicised."

"Sure, we'll come" sambit ni Rance at itinabi ang invitation card

"Excuse me, I'll just use the comfort room" Caileigh excuse herself

She went to the comfort room and looked at the mirror, only seeing her tensed. She tried to inhale and exhale slowly to calm herself down, but someone barge in the comfort room

Kimberly smirked at her and then looked at the mirror to apply some make up

"You are living the life of a queen yet you still choose a commoner, how pathetic" she said in a bitchy tone

"What do you want? Are you mad because you already looked like a goddess yet not even a commoner would fall for you? Not even showing your ass nor your cleavage would make a man be on bended knees" Caileigh said with a smirk
