"Can you calm down?" I'm getting tired of her anxiousness. "I'm not going to hurt you."
"Ladies!" The teacher hisses.
"Sorry," she squeaks.
"Please trust me," I whisper.
There's a moment of silence and I hear her take a deep breath. Her thoughts start to slow down as well as her heartbeat.
"Okay," she sighs.
"I have many questions."
I grin. "Of course you do."
"Do you drink blood?"
I nod.
She makes a disgusted face.
"I know, it's so gross." I say, mirroring her expression.
I look up for the first time since I sat down, and I'm immediately met with Jacob's glare.
Alice follows my gaze. "Is he a werewolf?" she whispers.
"Yep."
"Is he the one you got into a fight with?"
"Yep."
Her eyebrows furrow. "Do you not like each other or something?"
I pause for a moment. "He hates me."
"Why?"
I sigh. "You'll find out soon enough."
The rest of class period consists of Alice hammering me with questions and the teacher having to continuously tell us to shut up.
The bell eventually rings for lunch and I make sure I'm the first one out the door, making sure I avoid Jacob.
Alice catches up to me, breathless. "Slow down!"
"Sorry, I just wanted to get out of there."
She straightens up as she catches her breath. "I see."
Someone else runs up to my side. "What the hell?" The boy hisses, his voice heavy with his accent.
I groan. "What?"
"You told this girl about us?" Jacob demands.
"She already knew."
"I did," I hear her mumble.
Jacob glares at her. "Humans cannot be trusted."
"Yes they can."
"We have to kill her now."
"Do it and I snap your neck," I growl.
"She can't be trusted!" he protests.
"Yes she can."
"I can," Alice says softly.
Jacob stares out ahead of him. I can see him debating between killing her and not killing her. The images he conjures up when he thinks about killing Alice make my hands clench into fists.
"Fine," he finally sighs.
"It's your fault she knows in the first place."
"What do you mean?"
"You attacked me first."
"I did." He smiles proudly.
I glare at him. "And she was behind a corner. She saw."
His face falls. "Oh."
"He started it?" Alice whispers. I nod in response
"Damn it," he mutters.
