Chapter 14: Son in Law

"Holy shit he actually-" Shanna exclaimed, looking at Law, who wore a satisfied smirk on his face. "Why?!" She looked at Caesar, who cowered in the corner. "For him?!" She couldn't understand why someone would give up the title of the Seven Warlords so easily, even though Law technically did the same thing by making an alliance with Luffy, but still. Not get it revoked, but give it up, publicly. Whoa.

"He needs him. That's why," Law said as he dialed a number on his transponder snail. 

After a few rings the person on the other side picked up, and what Shanna heard was a deep voice, "It's me. I resigned from the Seven Warlords." 

"He picked up!" Chopper screamed.

"He really picked up!" cried Brooke.

"Is it Doflamingo?!" Luffy demanded. He grabbed the speaker from Law's hand and screamed, "Hello?! I'm Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will become king of pirates!"

Usopp smacked Luffy on the head. "You said too much!"

"Hey Mingo! Are you the brown beard and Caesar's boss?!" Luffy continued to ask. "We'll give Caesar back because we promised but if you do this kind of thing again we'll beat your ass!"

Shanna placed her hand over her face. Luffy......

"Straw Hat Luffy....I have something you want very badly right now," Doflamingo speaked. 

"Something I want...very badly right now..." Luffy pondered. Shanna could only hear a loud gulp coming out of Luffy, and his eyes went red and saliva started dripping from his mouth. "How delicious is that meat your talking about?"

Law shoved Luffy away. "Stray Hat-ya! Don't get drawn in his pace!" Law said. Shanna just knew that Luffy would probably drive Law insane. In the first place, you can't expect a one celled brain like Luffy to not get drawn into Doflamingo's pace.  

Law notified Doflamingo that they will be dropping Caesar off at the beach of Green Bit island, and they hung up. "Wait, but they never said how many men they're going to bring. What if he brings his entire crew?" asked Sanji.

"That doesn't matter. Handing Caesar over to him is part of the plan. It's a diversion," Law informed.

"So the main purpose is to destroy the SMILE plant," Shanna said. 

Law patted her on the head. "Yes." He hasn't done this to her in a while. Shanna didn't realize how much she missed getting patted on the head by him. Her lips curled into an awkward yet satisfied grin. 

"Law-dono! Law-dono! You said we were going to Green Bit earlier!" Kinemon exclaimed.

"We'll dock the ship at Dressrosa, so don't worry," Law told them.

Kinemon and Momonosuke sighed in relief. "Is that so? Thank you!" Kinemon said.

"Thank you!" Momonosuke repeated. 

Luffy then popped out and asked, "Tra-guy! Have you been there? Dressroba!"

"Dressroba?" Robin and Shanna imagined an old lady wearing a dress.

"It's 'rosa'!" Law corrected. "I haven't been there. It's that bastard's kingdom."

Luffy's voice disturbed the serious mood. "Then let's figure everything out once we get there! Heehee! Adventure! Adventure! I can't wait to get to Dressrosa! I also wanna go to the kingdom of Wano soon too!" The Straw Hats smiled at Luffy, already used to his cheerful attitude. Shanna too couldn't help but smile at how light the atmosphere has become due to him.

"You idiot! You can't just show up without a plan!" Law shouted, only to get ignored.

"Sanji! I'm hungry! What's for breakfast?!" 

"It's sandwich!" the cook replied, walking towards the kitchen.

"Yeah! I want cotton candy sandwich!" Chopper skipped up the stairs.

"I'll just have tea," Robin said.

"Cola for me."

"I'll have milk!" 

Shanna's eyes lit up at the mentioning of food. She was famished, and Sanji makes amazing sandwiches! "I want tuna sandwich!" she said as she started following them up the stairs.

Halfway up the stairs she heard Law yell, "I hate bread!"

Oh right, I almost forgot about that.

The next few chapters will be heavily plot based on the Dressrosa Arc. Event-wise I don't think there'll be anything that varies beyond the original, but rather a lot of flashbacks sprinkled through. I'm actually having a little bit of trouble organizing everything together, so I might take a while to get through the next few chapters. So sorry in advance if the next chapters come out a little late.
