I startled.

"Uh, I, er, a maid here, cleaning?" I stuttered stupidly.

From the upstairs floor of the library, someone slid down the banisters, showing a lively composure.

He wore a robe of royal blue, covering much of his clothes, wearing a frown.

"Who are you and what are you doing here? I don't recall Cyran allowing maids coming in here."

Royal Court Magician, I guessed, from the insignia sewn on the left side of his robe. He must be someone close to the Second Prince, to say his name without much care.

"Um, I, er---"

"Sigh, don't answer. Just do your job and get out," he said. Wow, what rudeness but whatever. I couldn't care less about you, oh-so high and mighty!

...

"Saki, what happened?" Maria began as I dramatically fell sobbing into her arms.

"A rude guy kicked me out!" I whined like a child. A worried expression flew across her face.

"The South Wing Library should be unoccupied! The head maid needed someone to tend to it since it's been days since any servants have tidied it."

"The rude guy though...! Stupid court magician!"

Maria expressed her condolences and worry to me, sighing.

"It seems I can't relax when I'm not with you," she sighed. I could feel the insinuation she was making, her being well aware of my encounter with the Second Prince. Luckily she didn't know about my cheat abilities.

Another maid hurried into the kitchen. The kitchen was always where we met up and  ̶s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶o̶d̶ assisted the cook.

This maid, Rosabelle, looked rushed. Then her eyes gazed upon us and she hurried over.

"Saki, His Highness The Second Prince has summoned you!" she said.

W-what...!

It was not usually good news when a servant is called for. In fact, it was rarely called for, and only the maids could think of the worst.

"Alrighty, I'll go."

"Please do be careful," both Rosabelle and Maria expressed dearly, sending worried expressions my way.

...

"I heard I was summoned for..." I began as I entered the study. There, the rude magician dude, standing next to the desk of Cyran.

"You...!" I began but trailed off.

"Hinata Saki, I talked about your abilities with Aiwin here."

"Aiwin Elgella Inaroris, at your service," he bowed respectably.

Another ikemen with a mouthful name of nonsense!

"We have yet to test your abilities to your full potential. From Cyran, I hear that you have ice, lightning, and healing magic?"

"Yes, I do," I answered back. For all I know, I may have more abilities than just those three; I just didn't have the time and privacy to test it out on my own accord, since you moved me from courtyard to palace!

Aiwin began taking his test-magic skill thingies, or what I think are his test-magic skill thingies. One looked like a crystal ball with tons of blinding iridescent lights shooting out everywhere, another was a box of chalk sticks, star anise, weird-looking peppers that I don't know the name of, a bunch of dried-out herbs (also nameless), a yellowed-page grimoire, and last one was a collection healing rocks and starry pendulums.

"These are just a few knick-knacks to evaluate your full strength," he said, as if answering a question that I didn't know I had.

He's doing witchcraft for sure--

Aiwin unpacked the box of mysterious no-names, and drew a weird pattern he was reading from the ancient grimoire on a slab of iron, making a cringey ear-wrenching noise (like nails on a chalkboard). Sprinkling a star anise at the five corners of the stars, he littered a bunch of ground-up herbs and used peppers as the 'flint' to light up the candles, which were a purple-gray color.

The crystal ball was put in the center of the pattern, and he stacked up healing crystals surrounding the base of the ball. He began to swerve around a pendulum in a circle above, the shiny colors of blue and purple creating a galaxy flow.

"Is all of this necessary?" I said, staring judgmentally at the layout of weird stuff.

"That, I ask as well," Cyran followed along. Aiwin casted a glare.

"You said it yourself that she had ice, lightning, and healing! So many elemental magics, and even the Goddess's power! She could have more abilities for all we know!
"Okay, so put your hands together on the Magecraft Tool," he instructed.

"Okay," I hesitated, but did so. The already-blinding light soared upwards, causing a turbulence of wind to overturn the candles over, mess up the chalk pattern, and scatter the crystals. The searing heat of the ball burned my palms and I fell backwards.

The wind stopped the minute my hands away from the ball. A distinctive clink! reverberated through the air.

"Holy...! You...!" Aiwin stuttered, holding up the crystal ball. A noticeable large span of a crack reached out, and the light magic contained had flooded out, leaving the ball lacking of the resplendent light it once had.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...!"

"Your power is more powerful than I have ever seen in my life's experience within the Royal Court Magician Bureau! No, it exceeds the strongest mage in existence! Just who are you?!?!" he said, backing away behind Cyran.

"I--!"

"Goddess! Are you the Goddess??!??! The Goddess reincarnated might as well have descended from the heavens above and into our world!"

"I am NO Goddess!" I protested. That damn shite of a goddess...! Must've made my abilities too overpowered!

For once, I can really confirm that my peaceful life is gone T^T

Omake -

"Cyran wants us to tend to these stubborn bonsai trees! Apparently, they keep wilting," said Aiwin.

Saki stretched out her hands, wanting to touch the little trees. It reminded her of the bonsai trees she used to keep at her windowsill when she was still living in Japan.

Her light touch against the small tree's head reacted, and the trees stood upright and strong.

Healing magic...!

"You really say you aren't the Goddess?" Aiwin said, casting her suspicious eyes.

"I said I was NOT the Goddess, that means I'm not the Goddess!"

*Bonsai Tree-sama would say otherwise owo*
