Diana's POV
It's time for the ball and I'm a little nervous. All the alphas and lunas will be present. To meet the future Luna Queen of all wolves. I maybe of been an alpha, but my pack was small. I may have to prove myself to some of them. I may also have to keep a close eye out for power hungry females. But I can handle them easily. No one touches my mate, but me and his mother.
"Diana, you're in dream land again" Ginny says.
"No, I'm not. Just thinking about tonight" I state.
"Same here, we're going to the top females of the royal pack" Ariel states.
"I already had to chase one slut away from my mate" Ginny growls.
"I doubt it'll be the last until you are mated completely and with pup" I tell her. "No doubt I'll have more girls to fight off then you two" I state.
"True" they say together.
"You know it'll be a full moon in a week" I remind them.
"I'm nervous about it" Ariel says.
"Same, we only just came of age and now we'll go into heat. All single males will be after us" Ginny says nervously.
"Our mates will keep them away and don't forget we're highly trained wolves. No one will mate with us unless they are our mates" I assure them. "Besides I'm sure your mates have a safe spot chosen for the occasion. I know Elijah has, though he has not shown it to me" I state.
"You're right, besides tonight is about us being introduced to everyone" Ariel states.
"Likes focus on having fun" Ginny adds. We all agree and finish getting ready for the ball. Soon there's a knock on the door.
"Come in" I say and our mates enter. They look at us speechless. "What do you think gentlemen?" I ask twirling as the other two giggle doing the same. Elijah looks at me with lust filled eyes and pulls me tight against his chest taking in my scent.
"You look stunning and your scent is intoxicating" he says in my ear. Making me shiver in delight.
"Can't we skip the ball?" Jack asks.
"Yeah, we can all go have our own private parties" Charlie says making Ariel blush.
"I wish we could, but my parents would be furious" Elijah grumbles. "Are you ready?" he asks me. I nod my head smiling. We all leave and our mates lead us to the ball room. The double doors open and as Phil (Elijah's father) introduces us.
"Allow me to present my son Elijah Wolf-Moon and his mate your new princess Diana Jackson" he says. Elijah and I stand up the top of the stairs as everyone looks up at us. "Along with your Beta Jack and his mate Ginny and third in command Charlie with his mate Ariel" he adds. Everyone claps politely as we descend the stairs.
We're greeted by our parents and family first. "Loki, how is the pack?" I ask my cousin.
"The pack is well and I believe I have found my mate. She's here tonight" he says looking around the room.
"Go get her then" I tell him smiling. He smiles back and leaves in search of his mate. I hug dad.
"Your mum would be very proud of you" he tells me.
"She'd be proud of you too" I tell him. I then hug Lillian as Elijah shakes my father's hand. We then leave them to mingle. I meet a lot of alphas and lunas. Even a few Betas and Gammas with their mates. Then the first dance started and Elijah pulled me into a slow Waltz. I still a little uneasy dancing. But he is an amazing dance partner.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" he asks me.
"Diffidently a lot grander then I'm used to, but I'll get used to it" I tell him.
"Don't worry, these kind of balls don't happen often" he assures me. "Though there'll be a party to celebrate our union, coronation, and when we are expecting our first pup. Then after the pup shifts" he states.
"So our calender is pretty much booked for the next year" I say with a small smile.
"At least, yeah" he says sheepishly.
"When will our coronation be?" I ask him curious.
"Not until you are finished training, but we maybe crowned sooner if you become pregnant" he states.
"As long as we work together, we can do anything" I tell him smiling. He smiles in agreement and kisses my cheek tenderly. The ball continues with minimal amount of drama. We then call it night.
