“So why did you choose to be the manager at Bridgewater’s” Daniel asked her, brushing her lightly on the arm and sending shivers through Melissa’s body.
“I just love helping people” she smiled. “I guess it comes from my parent’s divorce, since I couldn’t help them, I tried to help anyone else I could.” She paused, “And Ramona gave me a chance, even without experience, so I took it” Melissa added.
“And you worked your way up to manager” Daniel smiled, impressed.
“After three years” she stated.
“Well I’m glad” Daniel smiled, “You’ve helped to make me a very rich man. And a happy one” he grinned.
Melissa felt her heart start to beat faster, it felt so loud to her that she was sure Daniel could hear it. Melissa was astonished by the way Daniel made her feel. She had known him for only two weeks, but already he made her heart beat faster than ever before. She felt herself longing for his touch. When he touched her it sent a thrill throughout her entire body, and when he took his hand away from her, she felt like she would die.
Melissa hadn’t felt this way in a long time, not since she had been engaged to Patrick and even then, she couldn’t remember feeling this way.
Melissa tried to shake the feelings from her head. She didn’t think Daniel felt the same way for her, and even if he did he would be leaving in a couple of weeks and she may never see him again.
Thinking about Daniel leaving made Melissa remember the apartment they had looked at together and she wondered if Daniel was still looking for one.
“Are you still looking for an apartment” She asked him.
“Actually I’m moving in on Saturday” He replied.
Saturday, that was only two days away.
“I thought you might like to help me move in” he asked her, his voice was deep with a gentle hum to it.
Melissa wondered if she should continue to see him, but couldn’t help but say yes when he asked her so sweetly.
“Great” he grinned, “We’ll be meeting Stacy at ten o’clock” he added.
So he had chosen the apartment she liked best. She could see Daniel living there…sleeping there…with the many woman he must take home at night. She shook those images from her mind, she was sure Daniel hadn’t been with another woman since he had been in Australia…but she couldn’t help wondering. After all, Daniel was gorgeous and he must have a lot of women falling all over him. When they were together, Melissa couldn’t help but notice he attracted the looks of many a women and she was sure he wouldn’t go this long with an empty bed to come home too. There would be no shortage of woman to fill it, she thought.
Melissa jumped up, feeling disheartened by the thoughts that were now entering her head.
“What’s wrong” Daniel asked sweetly.
“Nothing” she replied, looking away. “I think we should go”
Daniel got up, looking concerned. He packed up the rest of their things and they both left.
When they got to the car, Melissa heard a beeping noise. She saw Daniel grab his phone out of his pocket, it must be someone calling she realized. She saw him look at the screen, and quickly put his phone back in his pocket, turning it off.
“Aren’t you going to answer that?” Melissa asked him, curious as to who was calling him, and why he didn’t answer it.
