A few hours later and Melissa was behind the front desk at Bridgewaters once again and was starting to feel like she never left work. The Inn was quiet today, most of the guests didn't stay around the Inn on the weekend and Melissa started to feel herself getting lonely. It was then she realised she should probably check her messages, as she hadn't wanted to check her phone in case Daniel had rang last night. To her dissapointment, Melissa heard the familiar deep sexy voice of Daniel on the other end of the phone, he had called early that morning. It was a short message, nothing more than Daniel wanting Melissa to call him back, however this time she noticed a touch of sadness in his voice.

Melissa wondered whether to call Daniel back or not, and she decided she would at some point, during the day, before she left work. Before she knew it the phone rang, this time it was the front desk and Melissa felt relieved.
"Did you get my message" Daniel drawled, sending a shiver down Melissa's spine.
"I did. I was about to call you back but you beat me to it" Melissa replied.
"I know your busy, I thought you'd be at the inn even on your day off, I didn't expect you to call me back straight away" Daniel sounded nervous, "However, I do expect you to say yes to my next question".
Melissa could sense Daniel was now grinning on the other end of the phone and she couldn't help but feel nervous about what he was about to ask her.
"I'd like to take you out on a proper date" He stated boldly. "After work of course- It could be our first date" He sounded nervous at the latter. Melissa felt like her heart had stopped beating she was so nervous and surprisingly, excited.
"I'd love to" she replied, forgetting every reason why she had been mad at him.
"Good" Daniel said, and Melissa could hear a sense of relief in his voice. She was surprised. Daniel had seemed like he was nervous when he was asking her out she assumed he had asked out many girls before so why would he be nervous asking her.
"So where are you taking me" Melissa asked, feeling confident enough to add a flirtatious touch to her voice.
"It's a surprise, I'll pick you up after work, see you then Melissa".
Melissa was still smiling even after Daniel had hung up. However she supposed she would have to work a full day now if Daniel was picking her up after work.

Melissa was excited about her date with Daniel but couldn't help but feel nervous at the prospect of seeing him after they had almost- she was also curious as to where he was taking her and wondered if she would be dresses appropriately. Today Melissa had chosen a simple white blouse with a ruffled collar and a black pencil skirt. Respectable she thought, but hardly date material. Melissa wondered if she should run home at lunch to get a change of clothes.

The day went slowly for Melissa, her mind never wandered from what happened between her and Daniel the other night and the prosepct of it happening again. However, Melissa found she had alot to do around the Inn. She re-ordered extra linen supplies as the inn was becoming increasingly busy as it was peak season for tourists in the area. Melissa also had to check that the kitchen was running smoothly and the horses were brushed and fed. The horses would have to look thier best, Melissa thought as she assumed she would be selling them in a couple of weeks when the Inn was handed over to Mr Odell. Melissa sighed. She knew she would miss the horses whom she had become so close to in such a short amount of time. Melissa knew it would hurt even more because, as a young girl, Melissa had always wanted a horse of her own.

It was nearing lunch time at the Inn when, back at the front desk, Melissa recieved a call- one of many she had recieved so far throughout the day. "Melissa" she heard the enthusiastic voice of her friend Ramona on the other end of the phone. "Ramona" Melissa nearly screamed, "How are you, How's Vegas?".
"It's great" Ramona answered. "We are having so much fun".
"So It's going well with Andrew then"
"Its going great- speaking of, hows my brother".
"Actually we have a date tonight" Melissa couldnt help but smile at the thought of Daniel and thier date. "Are you serious" Ramona yelled, "well watch out he doesn't take you to Cuisine- he takes all his girlfriends there". Melissa's heart sank at the thought of Daniel with another woman, or even more than one. Ramona had made it sound like Daniel had been with a lot of women and that sure didn't make Melissa feel any better as she had been in very few relationships.
"I better go" Ramona said, interupting Melissa's thoughts. "But I'll call you tomorrow, see how the date went- don't worry though I'll make it a late call just in case the date goes well" Ramona laughed. Melissa laughed back, knowing she was nervous in the pit of her stomach.
"Talk to you later then" Melissa said, hanging up the phone.
Melissa remembered she was going to go home to get a change of clothes for her date with Daniel. She informed Gary she was leaving for her lunch break and to call her if he needed anything. Melissa left the Inn quickly after she said goodbye to Gary, avoiding any inappropriate remarks he was sure to make.

It didn't take long for Melissa to get home however it did take her a while to choose her outfit. As she didn't know where Daniel was taking her she didn't know whether to pick a formal outfit or a casual one. She refused to acknowledge Ramona's earlier thought that Daniel takes all his girlfriends to Cuisine so she decided to wear a blue, tight fitting strapless dress that perfectly complemented her olive skin tone, and silver flats. The perfect balance between casual and formal she thought. Melissa put her date outfit in the back of her car, hoping she would have enough time to get changed before Daniel arrived.
