The good guys. Someone Loki never thought he would be, but there he was, working with the Avengers themselves. Today, Tony was going on about mission tactics and Steve was rambling on a passionate speech about teamwork and blah blah blah. Loki couldn't find the energy to pay attention. Each team meeting was the same: boring. In this particular one, everyone was getting assigned new partners for the upcoming mission.

Tony went through the list, pairing off people until there were only a few left.

"Loki we're gonna have you work with (y/n). She's new but you two will get along swell." he checked something off his iPad, quickly glancing up and giving Loki a tight smile before continuing on his match-making process. Great. He was getting the new girl.

Loki sighed, making his way towards the exit and carelessly bumping into someone.

"I'm sorry I-" he looked down at the lady standing before him. Her long (h/c) flowed softly on her shoulders, with tiny little braids throughout. Her (e/c) eyes looked up at him as she apologized.

"no, I'm sorry I got distracted and well I'm new here so I don't really know- " She spoke fast, Loki barely catching the words she was saying

"You must be (y/n)," he said, hearing the words 'new' amidst her rapid fire apologies. She innocently smiled at him and nodded. Loki studied her, wondering why Tony would recruit someone that looked so... delicate. Her pale pink colored nails and carefully groomed hair had no place in a bloody battlefield.

"Thats me," She confirmed, gently putting a stand of her hair behind her ear.

"And what exactly do you.. do?" Loki asked her, trying his best not to sound offensive.

She smiled sweetly, "I was an undercover assassin for SHIELD for a while. I've worked with Agent Romanoff a few times but nothing really to the Avengers level."

Loki was quite stunned, to say the least, about what she had said. An assassin? This sweet woman who had just apologized like 17 times for accidentally running into him?

"You don't really strike me as the assassin type," Loki said, much to his oblivion. Her lips slowly stretched into a smile, and her eyes quickly flashed with a crazed, bloody look, gone as soon as she blinked again and she was back to the delicate facade that held in the true warrior within. The warrior who had held weapons that could kill millions, hidden in plain sight among the worlds deadliest people and escaped close encounters with death himself.

Her rosy cheeks flushed a darker shade as she twisted a strand of her hair in her finger,

"That's what makes me so good at it"
