It only took a week to find a surrogate. She was young, blonde, and healthy. Her name is Valerie Coleman, she's twenty-two years old.
She wasn't even the least bit fazed or put off by the fact that she was going to carry a baby for Penguin and Riddler.
"I hope this works out for you guys. You seem like really nice people." Valerie says quietly.
"I hope it works out two."
It's the day they'd been waiting on. The day the doctor would transfer the fertilized embryos into the surrogate's uterus. The transfer went well, but now Ed and Oswald were waiting anxiously for the surrogate to call them telling them she was pregnant. It didn't take long. 6 days later she actually came to the mansion to tell them.
"It worked, I'm pregnant! You're getting your baby!"
"What?! Oh, my God! Edward, come here! Quick!"
"What is it?"
"We're getting our baby."
Ed gasps in shock and jubilation, smiling that beautiful Enigmatic 5000 megawatt smile of his.
"Are you sure?!"
"I took that damn test 4 times just to be sure!"
Ed hugs Valerie tight, overjoyed. Oswald joins in the hug, still unable to believe it.
