Part 19

Good things finally happen here. I'm so grateful that I got this jobs. After the briefing, I can start working immediately, I sit on a reception table, my job is to record any books that are being borrow.

I sit for too long causing my back hurt, I cannot sit for too long as my back will hurt it's normal for pregnant women to go through this, so I stand and take a walk in the library for a while, scanning ever shelf of books.

" Hey, you looked familiar" suddenly, I heard a voice from my back, I quickly turn around and frown.

" Are you talking to me?" I said as I eyeing him, well he does look familiar too.

" Yeah, last time I saw you, you look skinny and now you a bit...chubby?" He said, making me offended a bit I might say.

I glare at him, seriously? Who are you to judge me? But, I've seen him before, but where?

" You don't remember me?" He said.

" No, I don't" I respond. I turn my attention away from him.

"Harry, my name is Harry..do you remember now?"

I shiver as soon as he said his name. I turn my head into his direction again.
He smile, showing his dimples. Oh yes I remember now. I grip on a book that I was currently holding. Praying that he isn't around.

" Owh, you've must be mistaken, I'm sorry I have to go" as soon as I said that I walk into the bathroom, running away from him. Don't tell me he's here too. I calm myself down as anxiousness and panic attack me once again, I'll take a long breath before coming out from the bathroom. Glancing around to look for him but he's nowhere to be seen.

Thank god, he's gone. I'll sit back as my co-workers ask me if I'm alright, I told her that I'm fine and I continue my job until it time to go home.

After I reached home, I took a shower and prepare some dinner. Jane said that mom already finish her dinner earlier, so I thank her before she went home. Dad will be coming home late today, as he has some extra works to do. So, I guess I eat my dinner alone.

FEW DAYS LATER..

..I saw her and I know where she live.

The man gritted his teeth " If this a fake news and you wasting my time to fly there, I will fucking rip your throat, do you understand?!!" As soon as he said that, he end the call leaning into his chair. He slides his phone to unlock it, revealing a picture of a woman, smiling holding her sunflower. He touches the screen hoping to feel her cheeks again.

... I'm coming for you, baby!...

I stretch my hands and my entire body, to wake my numb nerves. Sitting too long with the cold temperatures isn't really a nice combination, I pack my things as it time to go home. I bid Goodbye to my co-workers as I rush out from the building. As soon as I reached outside, I came face to face with a man wearing a suit with black sunglasses leaning into his car.

My heart beating so fast, my body froze can't seems to take any step. I grip my knuckles to hide my trembling fingers. He looking directly at me, with a smile.

I don't know how to react, how did he finds me? How did he know where I work? Those questions flooded my minds.

" It's good to see you again, Adelle" he said while taking his sunglasses off.

The way he said my name, the way how his green eyes staring into mine hasn't even changed. He looked fine, he look...

" Adelle? I thought you already went home?" My co-workers Laura bringing back my frozen souls.
" I..I am waiting for someone," I said as a lie.

" Oh, I guess that's the one you waiting for, isn't?" She pointed at the man. Oh, Sandra you have no idea. " What are you waiting for?, Go" she pushed me to go near him. What the hell! I look at her as she keeps smiling and begin to run to leave me alone with him.

" Don't you missed me, Adelle?" He said.

But I just ignored his questions as I walk past him. He grabbed my upper arms and my memories of him that I try hard to forget come flashing back.

" Don't!...touch me" I said. I look at him in the eyes.

" I'm here to take you back" he said. It somehow anger me. How could he..

"Why can't you just leave me alone? Why can't you just let me go?" I said as tears forming in my eyes.

" I can't seems to let you go,Adelle. Even if I try, I just can't. I'm attached to you too much". He said while he let go of my hands.

"Just,..let me fix things". He said. Eyeing me and frown. I frown when I saw his face.

"You..looks different, are you gaining some weight?" He said out of blues, waa so now he doesn't like how I look?. I look at him disgusted by his words, how could he said that to me!

" So what if I'm gaining some weight?!, It's my body, I can do whatever I want" I said turning my heels to walk but once again he grab my hands. Once I'm facing him, without warning he cupped my baby bump. I froze in place but manage to pry his hands off my belly.

"You pregnant.." he said as his eye staring into mine, I can't exactly see what emotions lies inside his eyes.

"Who? Who's baby is that? Are you seeing other man?!" He said half yelling. He shakes me by my shoulder forcing me to answer.

" It's yours!! " I said annoyed by his action. He froze for a second before he speaks.

" It's mine?... Why you didn't tell me you're pregnant?"

"Why should I tell you?"

" I have the rights to know,Adelle"

" Now you knew" I said.

" Are you planning to raise our baby alone?"

" Yes,.." I said trying to walk away from him.

" Please..I want to take care of you, our baby. Would you rather let our baby grows without a father?"

That what I thought, but I can't let my baby grows with a abusive father.
" I rather raise my baby alone than be around an abusive father" I said and walk away leaving him stunned there.

"No...I can't lose you again,Adelle..I promise to get help, just please come back to me" he's begging.

I heard him enough. " Please, I'm tired, I don't want some unwanted stress ruining my mood, it's not good for the baby, please stay away from me" I said as I turn to leave but he catch my arms again.

" I promise, I'll get help but let me take you home.. please"

" Are you going to kidnap me again?"

" No, I will not, please trust me this time, give me a chance to fix things" he said pleading.

" How did you find me?" I said ignoring his pleading.

" I think you already knew how" he said. So, it's him. He told him where I work.I bite my lips, gathering courage to say this to him.

"Look..Jordan, I..I will pay you back that money you spent on my mom's medical expenses, just please..stay away from me and my family"

He gritted his teeth, looks annoyed.
" Can't you understand, Adelle. I want you, I want to take care of you and our child, if you didn't run away that day, we already married by now"

It's begin to dark and the temperature was dropping. Cold breeze hit my skin, I shiver feeling the breeze embrace me. He noticed that and he grab my hands, before I could react, he leads me towards his car, he open the front door and asked me to go inside. I hesitate for a moment before I step inside.
