(Third person POV)

It is currently in the middle of the night, Akiri just gotten back to his dorm room and as he was about to take off his clothes his phone starts to ring from his pocket. He pulled his phone out and saw who is calling him. He paused for a moment before answering.

Akiri: This is Akiri

???: *serious tone* So, any news?

Akiri: Nothing noteworthy to report yet, other than Stella almost getting spend on the first day

???: Excellent, how's the school?

Akiri: Its fine I guess, the other students are friendly and hasn't caused any trouble. None of them seems to give off any suspicions and there seem to be no suspicious activities in the area

???: *sighs* That's good to hear, *less serious tone* How about you?

Akiri: I've been good, the mock battle with her is coming up tomorrow

???: Good, remember, you have to give it your all. I know it is hard for you to hurt her but, we need to know how good she has gotten at controlling her abilities

Akiri: I understand. Anyway It's getting pretty late, I need to get some sleep

???: Okay. Remember, just because nothing happened yet doesn't mean you should let your guard down.

Akiri: I won't. See you later, dad

Akiri then hung up and puts his phone back into his pocket and heads to the dorms

(Next day)

It is the day of the mock battle between Akiri and Stella. Currently, Akiri is in his room lying on the bed thinking about what he heard when he was younger.

(Flashback)

A young Stella is in her room lying on a bed with her mother beside her

Stella's mother: Stella, stop now. You don't have to become a knight, if you have to go through this.

Stella: No mother. A little nation like ours needs a strong magical knight. I promise I'll be able to control this power to get there...

Unknown to them, behind the slightly opened door, a young Akiri was eavesdropping on their conversation

Akiri: ...

(Flashback over)

Akiri: *sighs* (thoughts) I'm sorry Stella, but I won't be going easy on you.If I win I'll make you quit being a knight. I'm sorry. If you can't beat me today, then you're not ready for what's to come. It's for your own good

(Timeskip)

(Akiri POV)

I have just arrived at the training field. I am currently in my side of the arena deep in my thoughts

Kurono: Shiranobu!

I was broken from my train of thoughts by the director calling my name

Kurono: you okay?

Akiri: Yeah I'm fine...

I look around and saw a couple of people on the spectator seats and I overheard them talking to one another.

??? 1: Who is this guy?

??? 2: I don't know, but he is another A rank

??? 1: You think he can beat Vermillion?

??? 3: No way, She's the Crimson Princess, a prodigy. No way she's gonna lose to a guy we never even heard about!

??? 2: I don't know, she did lose to an F rank not too long ago
