'Ah, he's coming around.' Kyoya sighed, more relieved than he would admit.
'I need to sort this out.' Tamaki-senpai said as if choking on the words.
'Sort what?' Hikaru asked missing the obvious.
'If, supposing...supposing that I am not Haruhi's Daddy...'
'Like we said there's no supposing about it.' Kaoru insisted with obvious impatience.
'...then why is it that I find her to be so cute and precious?' We all stared at him in surprise. This was the most self aware that Tamaki-senpai had probably ever been.
'Huh? Sir, what are you talking about?' Hikaru asked, still oblivious.
'Why is it that I get so concerned when she's with someone else that I can't stand it? If I'm not her daddy, then I shouldn't have any right to interfere with those two.'
'Uh...well what was with all those delusions of making her your wife up until now?'
'Is that strange? Fathers don't usually want to give their girls up to other men, do they?'
'What about keeping Haruhi from kissing anyone?' Kaoru interjected.
'Is it wrong to protect a daughter's cute lips?'
'You know Sir...you don't want our relationships as they are now to fall apart do you? Wasn't our family setting your line of defence against that?'
'Kaoru...' His twin murmured.
'I don't know what you mean.'
'He's an idiot.' Kaoru said under his breath.
Kyoya then decided to intercede. 'I get it. Indeed, I did think that your lovey-dovey delusions lacked any sense of reality on a daily basis but...'
'Tama-chan is out of it when it comes to matters about himself after all.' Honey-senpai explained cheerfully.
'Kaoru what did you mean about a line of defence earlier?' Hikaru asked frowning.
'Nothing. Just a hypothesis of mine. But if I'm wrong, never mind.'
Out of nowhere, Tamaki-senpai unfurled from his position on the floor and sat up. 'Did you hear that gentlemen? Seina?' A triumphant look on his face. 'Haruhi just said that I was a lot like her father.' I glanced over to where the girl in question was sat with her admirer.
Kyoya looked unimpressed. 'Well to be precise, you and Haruhi's father share a few common traits but to say that you are her father...'
However Tamaki-senpai was not listening, tears of happiness streaming down his face. 'That's it! That's it! I may not be her daddy but I am like her daddy!'

It appeared that Haruhi had not gotten any better at interpreting other people's feelings since she inadvertently rejected Arai-kun in middle school. Poor Kasanoda-kun was scarlet red as he leaned towards her and attempted to confess his feelings. Alas, Haruhi interrupted him before he could finish his sentence, declaring that it was great to have such a good friend to talk to. This caused uproar among the fangirls who all wanted to commiserate with him. Poor Kasanoda-kun seemed to be taking the rejection pretty well. 'W-we'll be friends forever! You and me, right?' He shouted loud enough for everyone in the club to hear.
'Bossa Nova-chi!' Sobbed both twins and Honey-senpai.
'Kasanoda-kun!' Wailed the teary eyed fangirls.
'I'm getting a headache.' I muttered shaking my head. The poor guy was then surrounded by young women and hosts who were suddenly desperate to be his friends. Things had certainly not worked out how he'd expected.
Tamaki-senpai sat staring out at the chaos in his club, lips parted in surprise. 'What's the matter Tamaki?' Kyoya asked.
'When I think about the way that Bossa Nova-kun was feeling, my heart aches a little.'
'That's strange. You're her 'daddy' right? There shouldn't be any reason for you, as a man, to have your heart ache in sympathy for him.'
'Hey Seina.' I spun around and spotted two girls from my music class heading towards me.
'Hi.'
'Is it true that Haruhi has a male visitor?' One asked leaning towards me.
'See for yourself.' I replied gesturing vaguely to where the couple sat, surrounded by new 'friends'.
'Aww that's so sweet. Imagine loving someone enough to expose yourself like that!'
'I know it's so touching!' I made to sidle away when they abruptly turned their attention back to me.
'So Seina, speaking of love. How are things going with your man?'
I gave an exaggerated roll of my eyes. 'Have you two not asked me enough questions to last you both a lifetime?'
'No!'
'Not even a little!' I sighed.
'May I ask what you ladies are talking about?' Kyoya asked with a charming smile. I hadn't even realised he was behind me.
'Oh Kyoya-senpai! We were just talking about you!'
'No we weren't!' I insisted even as he wrapped an arm around my waist and pressed his lips to my cheek.
'Would you lovely ladies mind if I borrowed my fiancé for a moment?'
Both girls blushed and mouthed letters as they struggled to form a response. 'Oh! Yes! Of course Kyoya-senpai she's all yours! I mean obviously she already was but...you know what I mean...'
'Thank you.' He said, smoothly cutting off her babbling as he led me away.
'Thanks for sparing me an interrogation.' I whispered.
He smirked. 'What makes you think I didn't actually want you for something?'
I arched an eyebrow at him, unimpressed. 'Could you not at least pretend to be thinking about something other than yourself?'
'Seems entirely pointless when I'm so handsome.' I elbowed him playfully as he pulled me to a stop. He then pulled me into his arms, leaning his head against mine. 'I love you, you know.' I buried my face deeper into his chest.
'I know.' Slowly I drew away. 'Is this what you wanted?'
He smiled and ran a hand through my hair. 'Well I'm aware that you are enduring more curiosity and harassment than usual because of our engagement.'
'How very considerate of you.'
He kissed me softly. 'I do try.'
'Why don't you just tell Tamaki-senpai that he likes Haruhi?'
He chuckled at me. 'Can you not see I'm trying to be affectionate?'
'I can.'
He sighed, stroking his thumb across my cheek. 'Because it's more interesting to let things unfold naturally and I am far to busy to guide that idiot through his first relationship.' He pointedly tugged me closer. 'Satisfied?'
'You don't seem all that busy to me.'
'I'm about to be.' He murmured against my lips and then I gave up arguing.

In celebration of Kasanoda-kun's new found popularity. The entirety of the club, guests included, trooped out into the grounds to play kick the can.
'Hyper Starlight Kick!' Tamaki-senpai yelled as he conducted his infamous and dangerous kick. Luckily, this time no harm came to any participants or spectators.
In the second round, it was Kasanoda-kun's turn to count. Before anyone else could make a move, Tamaki-senpai grabbed Haruhi's hand and charged off into the maze. Me, Kyoya and the twins decided to give chase and followed them to the little seating area where we'd found them previously. 'Hey!' Tamaki-senpai complained. 'This hiding space is for Haruhi and I alone.'
'You can't go deciding that all on your own.' Kaoru declared.
His brother frowned at the duo on the floor. 'For that matter, sir, why do you and Haruhi have to hide together?'
Apparently Tamaki-senpai had fully recovered from his trauma. 'You fools! It's only natural for a father to hide together with his daughter!'
'I don't see any necessity.' Kyoya interjected bluntly.
Haruhi looked up at us and pressed her finger pointedly to her lips. 'Shh! Quiet everyone!' I smiled at her. She was adorable. Naturally we all squeezed under the table.
'Why kick the can anyway?' Hikaru whined putting a casual arm around Haruhi.
'Hands of my Haruhi!' Tamaki-senpai snapped at him.
'She's not yours sir!' The twins declared in unison.
'Then whose is she!?'
'What kind of a question is that?' I demanded.
'I'm not anyone's!' She cried cutting off everyone else.
