"She knew red was her color, she knew diamonds went with everything"

Waaah, shiho you look so beautiful" hakase said with wide eyes.

Shiho came down the stairs wearing a beautiful red dress, it was classy kind of red that was fit for winter, and the sleeves were puffy- sleeves
It was long dress, kind of midi
And she wore on top of it a fur jacket just for the outside, because it was snowing.

"Oh, come on hakase we're already late"
They stepped out of their house and walked hand in hand to their neighbors house, it was snowing outside, and when shiho entered the house next to them, she was in awe everything around her was so sparkly and and beautiful, she took a spin around herself, and she heard laughs and music in the background faces, everyone dancing, she chuckled at what she did "it's like a fairytale in here" she whispered to herself
"I agree with you princess" came a voice behind her
"Heiji kun, you scared me" she said as she laughed
"Well, you seem happy to see me"
"Of course, I'm always happy to see a face I know in these kind of occasions, but excuse me I need something to drink" and she went to look for a drink, and maybe just maybe, she will run into shinchi and tell him

Heiji and hakase was looking at her until she vanished from their sight
"She seems different these days" heiji said his thought out laud.

"Ever since the black organization got defeated, she changed with every passing day, and I know that this is her true self if it wasn't because of the organization who turned her to what she was"

"I agree with you, I like it when she laughs on my jokes" heiji said with a big smile

"Heiji kun, did she tell you about her leaving?" Asked the professor after a few seconds of silence
"Well, Honestly I heard you talking about but I didn't think she would really go, but Leaving where?"

"Leaving japan" came a voice behind them

"Shiho, what are you talking about why would you leave?" Heiji didn't like the idea of shiho leaving, he thought 'what would shinchi say'

"Heiji kun, I need to leave I want something new"

"But.." he protested

"I'm not running away anymore, I'm looking for me this time, ever since the Black Organization, and the APTX4869, I've been feeling useless, I want to travel and discover myself and what I want"

"Is it going to be a long journey?" He asked

"I'm not sure, but I'm willing to come back,... one day"

"Well, if that's what you want, I'll support you, I only wished you had told me earlier we could have spent your last days in japan in a crazy way" he smirked to her

"I knew you would say that" she laughed

The lights turned off in the hall and everyone looked up, shinchi and ran were standing there and smiling
"Shinchi, I'm so happy right now" ran said as her hand was shaking in shinchi's hand

'Me too ran' he wanted to say but he couldn't.

His eyes kept roaming around looking at the people downstairs, looking for a face he knew, and a face he wanted to see.

"Shall we go down?"
Ran nodded to him and they started to walk down the stairs.

Down there everyone was clapping for the two, and shiho was one of them, in the back clapping with a comfortable smile on her face
"Do you regret anything?" Heiji whispered to her

"No, actually I started to believe that I did the right thing" she smiled at him and he believed her.

Everyone congratulated the couple and wished them happiness, as shinchi was talking to one of his friends, he felt her coming, to be more accurate the smell of her perfume sneaked into his nose, he closed his eyes and his memories went back to when he was reading for her the first page of a scandal in pohemia, they say smells bring to one a certain membery, 'it seems that it was true' he thought.

He opened his eyes and, looked behind his friend and there she was walking towards him holding the professor's hand and heiji to her right.

The sound of her heels as she walked closer and closer made his heart beat like crazy, he felt as if his heart will escape his chest
She now was in front of him their eyes were glued to each other, he couldn't help but to take a real quick glance at her, from up to down.

She caught him.

And she wanted to say
'Hey, eyes up here pervert' but it wasn't a good idea, his fiancée was right next to him.

The professor congratulated them and hugged them both, and went to look for food.

"Congratulations, you two look perfect together, and I wish you happiness" she said smiling a genuine smile

And shinchi for some weird reason didn't like that
'Is she really happy for us?, dose she really doesn't mind that I'm getting married? Why is she so relaxed about it' question after another popped in his head and they were all about the strawberry blonde haired girl that was standing in front of him, he was literally having a battle between himself and his true feelings and his feelings were overpowering his noble sense and duty.

Time passed by and everyone was dancing and talking, ran and shinchi danced only once and it was at the beginning, as for shiho she danced with the professor, and she wanted to sit, but heiji insisted that she dance with him, and so she did and they didn't notice who was staring at them all the time

Yes it was shinchi watching them like a hawk

'I don't like what I'm feeling, is this what jealousy feels like?'

The place was starting to suffocate him, and as he headed to the drinks table
He saw a certain someone slip outside, and he followed her.

Shiho was standing in the backyard where no one is definitely is going to come outside in that cold weather.

Sure it was cold, but she needed a fresh air, and a break to rest her face with all that fake smiling, because she was definitely not that happy at all.

"I knew I would find you here" came a voice behind her and startled her
"Could it be that you followed me tante kun" she smirked and turned to look at him

He smirked in return and walked to stand at her side, the snow was falling at the last days of December
They both looked up at the moon and the stars, each lost in their thought, everything was so peacefully quiet.

But their heart were not as quiet and peacefully as their surroundings, they were scared that the other person might hear it.

Shinchi looked at that person next to him who was looking at the sky but she looked as if she was looking beyond the sky.

His heart was beating faster and faster as he looks at her up and down

'Stop it, look somewhere else' thought shinchi.

As they stayed quiet, they were able to hear the music that started inside, it was a slow music that was meant for this moment.

The tension was so strong no one was able to deny it ..
They were attracted to each other no matter how much shiho wanted to run away and deny, or no matter how much shinchi is dense to his feelings he must one day come to the moment, where he realize what's happening to him, or maybe he realized it a long time ago?
