ASINTALE

  Once upon a time there was a kingdom full of happy people who didn't have a care in the world. The kingdom was called Asingdom. Everyone in Asingdom loved the royal family because they were loved and respected by them. The king and queen had only one son and heer to the throne, Prince William. He too was a very good man just like his father, King Henry.
   One day a circus lead by a strange man arrived into the kingdom. The strange man carried an ostrich egg with him. Then after a period of three days the attitude of the royal family towards everyone changed and nothing was ever the same.
    Three years later the royal family moved into a much bigger and richer castle and had so many subjects it became like a fortress. A few miles away in a nearby town lived an orphaned young woman with her stepmother, her stepbrother and stepsister.
    Stepmother "Anna, have you changed the sheets? I asked you to change the sheets!"
    Anna "Yes, madam. I changed the sheets?"
   Tom "Anna, have you made coffee? You know how cranky I get if I don't get my coffee in the morning."
   Anna "Your coffee is on the table, sir."
   Tom picking up the cup of coffee and throwing it into the sink "It's cold!!! Make another one!!!"
    Linda "Anna, where is my breakfast?"
     Anna making another cup of coffee "It's right on the table."
     Linda "Eggs!? I asked for a salad! You know I'm on a diet if I want to look my best at the ball."
     Anna "I apologize...I will make you a salad right away!"
  Anna worked all day long to please her adoptive family. She had no friends, no one to turn to and no perspective for the future. Still one day as she as heading to the local market she saw two men slashing a poor defenseless donkey trying to make him carry a burden which was a hundred times his size.
   Anna "What are you doing?"
  First man "We're doing our job but this stupid asin doesn't want to move."
Anna "Do you think this donkey is an ant to carry a hundred times his own size!?"
    The second man "He is a donkey and he's to carry how much we put on him to carry."
    Anna "Stop! I will buy the donkey
How much is it?"
    The first man "The donkey isn't for sale!"
    Anna showing them a jewel "How about this much?"
    The second man "In that case...he's yours. We have no use for this useless sack of bones."
    Anna handing the man the jewel and taking the asin away "He is a being with a heart and feelings. I'm glad you let me buy him."
   The young woman arrived home with the donkey. At first her adoptive family didn't like the idea of having a donkey around but as they saw how helpful it was, they were happy with it. Very soon Anna and her donkey became inseparable. As she had no one talk to, she talked to him and she took him everywhere. She grew very fond of him and the donkey liked her too.
    Time passed and the day of the ball arrived. Linda had been preparing herself for this ball for a year and Anna wanted to go too. But Anna didn't have a dress so she had secretely made one for herself. So she got dressed and as she was getting ready to leave the house after leaving everything in order as she was told, Tom caught her and tore off her dress pushing her back into the house.
     Anna was crying on her bed and all of sudden she heard her donkey making sounds. The young woman went out to try and calm him down but he kept making these sounds. Very soon many farm animals gathered around them and the donkey pointed to Anna to follow him. The young woman followed him for some time and very  soon they arrived to the kingdom's old castle. The donkey went inside and Anna did the same. With his mouth the asin pulled out all beautiful dresses and the young woman was amazed.
    Anna "These dresses are so beautiful. How can I thank you, dear friend?"
   From behind she hears a strange voice "He is Prince William who came back to his castle."
   Anna "But Prince William is at the big castle with his father, King Henry. They are throw....."
   An old man aproached her and interrupted "Impostors! They're all impostors!"
    Anna "What!? But how???"
   The old man "Magic...Listen! You can break the spell girl. You can bring back the real family to the throne! You just have to be strong and to believe." The old man disappeared.
    Anna "But how am I...nevermind"
   A few hours later at the big castle almost all the guests arrived. But at the last moment a big beautiful carriage arrived. Guests' eyes turned to see the most beautiful woman wearing a dress like it was taken out of a dream. The prince smiled galantly and invited her to a dance.
    Anna then asked to go outside to get some fresh air and the prince followed her. The young woman went to see the donkey. The prince noticed she was talking to the donkey and said "Are you crazy, talking to a donkey!?" Then the donkey made loud sounds and many animals jumped the prince.
Anna aproached the prince "Did you and your master think you could get away with this?"
   The false prince "What are you talking about!?"
    Then a loud voice was heard "Leave my son alone, you ingrates!!!"
    Anna "Why if it isn't the impostor king!!!"
     False king "Hush girl! I'm THE KING!"
     The donkey then jumped the impostor king and an ostrich egg fell on the ground.
     False king "Quick son! Hand me the egg!!!"
     Anna grabbed something and smashed the egg into many peaces before the false prince could get to it. A few seconds after this the farm animals including the donkey turned into human beings.
    When the young woman looked up she saw two ugly men and instead ofa donkey she saw a prince dressed in rags.
    Master pulling out a dagger and heading towards Anna yelled "You ruined everything! I shall kill you!!!" But he met with the prince in rags and they fought. The prince bit his hand and the wicked man dropped it on the floor.
   The other man wanted to grab the man but she was quicked and threw things at him. She then hit him on the head with something and he fell to the floor.
   Anna then grabbed the dagger and was thinking what to do with it.
    Prince William "What have you done to my father and mother?"
   Master forcing himself on him "Easy! They've got eaten!"
  Prince William forcing himself on him this time "You monster!!!" When the master backed off he saw he had been pierced in the heart with his own dagger which Anna had given to the prince without him noticing. Bleeding imensely he colapsed on the floor and died.
    The other man got up only to get jumped by the other people around.
    Prince William aproached Anna and said "Anna, would you like to live with me?"
    Anna gazing into his eyes "Gladly."
    Anna's adoptive family had no one else to torment so they had to take care of themselves from then on.
    Prince William and Anna married shortly after and became king and queen of Asingdom. They lived happily ever after as the people in their kingdom were once again happy.
