'my mom's coming home tomorrow.' she sighed, sitting next to the boy.

'one more night, huh?' he slightly smiled.

she nodded, resting her head on his shoulder.

'it's hot in here, how are you in long sleeves?' she lifted her head to look at his wrist area that was currently covered by fabric.

'you're hot? i-im freezing' he stuttered, pulling his sleeves further down his palms.

'it's like 70 degrees in here.' she whined.

'then why are you in sweatpants?' he tried to turn the question onto her.

'because i can, and im comfortable so..'

he shrugged the question off, pulling her closer despite the actual heat in the house.

'i love you.' she mumbled against his shoulder that she was currently leaning her forehead on.

i don't know why, is what he really wanted to say back.

'love you more.' he mumbled.

'im hungry.'

'then eat.' he chuckled.

'but i don't want to.' she whined, turning to face his shoulder.

'just eat something, bell, c'mon.'

'how come you're always helping people feel happy, but you aren't yourself?' the question slipped right through her chapped lips.

'what?'

'it's nothing just i saw- it's nothing.'

what if telling him made luke even more sad then he was to begin with? thoughts like these swirled around her head.

'i help people cause i want to.' he backed up from her, looking at her worried face.

'but..'

'but what?' his eyebrows furrowed together.

'i- uh' her gaze dropped to his wrist area.

his eyes followed her's, his stare finally landing on his sleeves.

'oh.' was the only thing mumbled from the boy as his stomach practically dropped.

'w-why?'

'why what?'

'why would you?..' she gulped.

'because i uh- just please don't be mad, please.' he stood up, grabbing her hands and pulling her with him.

'why would i be mad?' she looked down.

'please, bell, look at me.'

'let me see them' she mumbled.

'but-'

'let me see them.'

darcy sighed, shutting her laptop that she had been hastily typing on for the past 35 minutes, her fingers working fast to type the newest chapter of her story.

a story she honestly wished was true.

you see, none of this world was real.

it was simply a figment of darcy's imagination.

she was a simple girl wishing there was someone like luke, a made up boy, out there.

but like the rest of this story:

he wasn't real.

they weren't real.

none of this was real.
