Chapter 7: Alliance

"Take down a Four Emperor? That's absurd. Luffy, don't listen to him, he's all talk," Nami said to Luffy, not believing Law.

Law then explained, "I'm not saying we can take him down overnight. I'm saying if we go according to plan step by step, we'd be able to take him down. What do you say Straw Hat-ya?"

Luffy hummed, as if contemplating something. Then he asked, "Which Emperor are you talking about?"

"The Emperor's name is, Kaido of the Beasts," answered Law. Nami's jaws dropped in shock.  Well of course they've all heard of Kaido, but Kaido is known as the strongest creature in the world!

"I see," Luffy replied. The Straw Hat captain grinned. "Okay! Let's do it!" Shanna's eyes widened, surprised that Luffy agreed so easily. She then turned her gaze at Law. Was this the plan he was talking about? Law....

Luffy, Law, Nami, Franky, and Shanna returned to where the other Straw Hats are, to tell them the news of the alliance. Of course, Usopp and Chopper were more than against it, they were petrified by the idea of it. 

"See Luffy, everyone's against it. It's too risky, let's stop!" Nami suggested, except she was in Franky's body, which made it seem all the more comical. 

"Yeah! I mean I like Shanna and all, but taking down one of the Four Emperor's is insane! It's too soon for that!" Sanji, no Chopper, said. Apparently Law had switched their personalities some time ago. It's confusing to look at. 

"Hey, about this raccoon," Law said, holding up Chopper's real body. 

"Forget about the raccoon!" Chopper snapped at the Heart Pirates' captain. And when he noticed what Law was holding, Chopper screamed. "AAAAHHH! ME!" He snatched his body out of Law's hand, and placed himself down on the ground, wrapping him in bandages while crying, "Oh my god! What happened to my body?"

"Luffy," Robin turned to her captain. "I'll follow your decisions, but pirate alliances are often marked by betrayal. Maybe it's not suited for you who are too trustful."

"Robin," Shanna caught their attention. "Law isn't that kind of person."

"Shanna?" Robin wore a look of surprise. From what Shanna told them, Robin suspected that she and Law aren't on good terms, so for the girl to speak up for the captain of the crew she once left was surprising. Since Shanna never told them the actual reason which she left the Heart Pirates, Robin automatically assumed that she and Law became enemies or something. 

Luffy turned to Law and asked, "Are you going to betray me?"

Law shook his head, "No." Luffy then smiled at his crew, as if he were showing off. 

"HEY! AT LEAST HAVE A LITTLE DOUBT!" Usopp shouted.

Shanna chuckled at Usopp, and patted him on the shoulder. "Take my word for it Usopp. I know he can be cunning, cold blooded, and not to mention creepy with his devil fruit power, but Law doesn't betray others. I've known him for 13 years, so I can tell. He's serious about the alliance," she said. Law stared at the girl wide eyed. There was a strange feeling in the depth of his stomach. He felt...touched. Despite how much he had hurt her, she was still willing to speak up for him. "Well, just take my word as an outsider. If you guys really want to rule these seas, it wouldn't hurt to become allies with a tactician like him."

"What do you mean outsider? You're already our comrade!" Luffy exclaimed. Eh? Shanna's eyes widened. Comrade.... She decided to get on the Sunny on the spur of the moment, in hopes for a change of atmosphere so she could sort some things out with herself. She planned to get off at some point, and she never would have wished for something so nice as becoming a part of them, but being with the Straw Hats have been so fun. To hear Luffy call her his comrade was so touching, Shanna felt like she was about to cry. After all, she had already considered all of them her friends.

"Hey, don't decide for yourself. She's still part of my crew," Law said to Luffy.

"Eeh? But she said she left the Heart Pirates, so she's free to join my crew!" Luffy replied.

"I never said she could leave! So technically she's still my vice captain."

"Eeeh? Now that's troubling, Shanna what do you say?" asked Luffy. Both Captains looked at the red haired girl. She pointed to herself and raised an eyebrow. Are they seriously gonna argue about who's crew she is on right now? Right here? In this situation?

She glanced at the others, but they were all looking at her as well, waiting for an answer. She honestly hadn't thought about joining the Straw Hats. And since the Straw Hats and the Heart Pirates have now formed an alliance, if she stays with them she'll keep seeing Law. So it's probably best if she leaves the Straw Hats after this. Although the New World is dangerous, she could go find her father, and travel with him while she continues to sort some things out. Just as she was about to tell him that she won't be staying with either, Law interrupted. "Shanna, you don't have to decide now. We still haven't properly talked yet. I want you to decide after we talk. For now, let's focus on the plan."

"Oh, I guess you're right," Luffy agreed. Shanna let out a long sigh. Somehow she felt relieved that she didn't have to answer them. With the alliance settled, the Straw Hats and Law and Shanna decided to help save the kids abducted onto Punk Hazard, as well as find the rest of the samurai's body.
