Edd's Deathbed

Tom's POV

I sigh as I sketch some hair on the person that I'm drawing. I've been so bored since Edd's been admitted to the hospital due to his cancer.

I hear a knock on my door and jolt my head back to see who it was. I obviously knew it was Matt but you can't have your hopes get too low right?

Matt opens the door with a smile. It wasn't as cheery as when Edd was still here but it was comforting. "Come on! We're going to see Edd at the hospital!" He said enthusiastically. I nod and close my sketchpad, and put the pencil down.

We head out of my room, and house. We get in Edd's car. I sit in the driver's seat while Matt sits in the passenger's seat beside me.

I start the car and we drive to the hospital.

~10 minutes later~

I pull the gearshift from reverse to park. We stop in the parking lot and get out of the car. I touch my back pocket and realise that my pho E wasn't there. "Hold on Matt, you head in first. I think I dropped my phone somewhere."

He nods and skips to the hospital.

~5 minutes later~

I walk into the hospital and the cold air hits my face. The fresh scent is calming. I smile and head to Edd's room. I don't need to ask which room is it because been here enough times to recall from memory.

I open the door and the first thing I hear is-

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S DEAD?!"

I stop in my tracks. "Whose dead....?"

Matt and the doctor flich and turn to look at me. "Edd Gold, sir. Edd Gold has passed away." She says in calm voice, but full of sorrow.

I look at Matt and I see tears streaming down his face, so there was no point in asking if they were joking. I swallowed the lump in my throat before asking "When did this happen?" I ask, my voice cracking slightly.

She checked the clipboard she was holding and dragged the pen alond and over the notes to find the time of his death. She made and click noise with her tougue and looked up. "Well, according to the security cameras his heart monitor stopped beeping at 04:11am in the morning."

I blink away the tears and nod. "Matt you go wait in the car. I'm going to register his death, his funeral will be arranged by next week." Matt nods, he leaves followed by a couple of sniffs.

~01:00pm~

Edd's POV

I groan as I feel better than I was in the  hospital. Wait, what happened after that flash of light? I stand up and look down, clouds?

I look in front of me, there were two large golden gates. Am I in heaven? Wait-

I shuffle my hands through my hair and-- YES I HAVE MY HAIR BACK!

I hear some music and I look back to the gates and the were opening I felt nervous but exited at the same time. I walked towards, then through the gates.

Another small flash  of light came before I saw it. It was exactly like back at home, except with clouds as the flooring. I looked around and saw angel children running around and playing together, Some men and women chatting and playing music.

I felt a smile creep onto my face. I look and see some children eating cookies-- "Gah!" I bumped into someone. I quickly get back on my feet and place my hand out for him. "I'm so, so sorry! I'm new here and-"

I was interrupted by his groans. He looked up and his eyes widened and mine did too. "Edd/ Tord?" We say simultaneously. He takes my hand and stands back up. "Why are you here? You're only 23 you shouldn't be dead yet." He crossed his arms.

"Cancer" I shrugged "And I could say the same to you." I smirked. "Ah... Well murder." He shrugs and puts his hands into the pockets of his red hoodie I've seen him wear since young.

See, I met Tord in middle school and helped him learn English till high school ended. From then on we only had little meetings and didn't see each other as often. He was a year older than me, and he has never met Tom and Matt before.

"What?! Who murdered you? When did that happen?" I say with slight nervousness and anger. "Hey relax, it was around last year and he's dead already. He says which makes me choke on my saliva." What?! "

"Yeah, after I died. I remember who murdered me, and I went back to earth in my human form to stab him a couple of times then let the blood drop out of him causing him to die a slow painful death." He says calmly. "But wouldn't killing make you go to hell?!"

"Exactly, he's in hell right now." He smiles. "I mean you! Why aren't you in hell?!" I say confused. Yes I knew this was Tord, I know he is obsessed with guns and death but why would he- "Oh, well I was already in heaven when I came to there's no point in changing."

I roll my eyes. "Wait-- If you're dead you can go back to being a human?" I thought that once you die you're bound to stay in either heaven or hell for the rest of your life. "Yeah but most people don't really want to-" I interrupt him by grabbing his hand "Can we go now please?!"

He pushes me off him "Edd, you haven't gotten a tour of this place, nor have a place to stay." He crosses his arms. "Plus, it'll be a week till you get your angel wings."

"Angel wings?" I look around and see that everyone had angel wings except for me. Even Tord had angel wings. "Fine" I huffed and followed Tord to his home.
