Raging fire, burning bright and high; towering and encompassing. All red and orange, the symbol of destruction and love. He would leave a trail of burning books in his wake and if you dared go near him you'd turn to ashes. But he would be so nice. He'd let you love all of him and he'd love all of you until both your flames would be extinguished.

Then brought back to life with a word.

Then months will pass and the leaves would slowly die. The sun will hide away quicker, eager to be in the arms of the moon as they intertwined in the horizon. He'd bring you coffee and kiss you on the forehead, but something is wrong. His flame is burning out. The fire is slowly dying, growing littler and littler as days go by. But it's not all bad, because there are magical nights and lovely, lovely talks under constellations as shooting stars whisk by. There are secrets and honeyed promises that are kept and laughter at midnight.

Then something white coats your perfect world; it's snow. Cold yet beautiful snow that numbs your bones. But you warm up to it, you warm up to his distance and his tired eyes. There's no way of helping, because these months are moments of sleep and hibernation and all you can do is wait by the fire, and wait for him to come back to you. The snow keeps on falling and you hate the nights where he doesn't say a word. His heart has turned to ice and it feels so empty without his warm hands around your heart.

But it's thawing. The world is thawing and is that the sweet smell of flowers in the air? The ice has cleared to sunflowers on fields as far as the eye can see. All over, there are flowers blooming and hearts roaming but you don't want anyone else's heart but his. He dances with you among the bees and your skirt billows around your ankles and he mistakes your laugh for the fairies. He holds you tight under the blue, sunny skies and you've never felt so whole because, alas, spring has come again.

Summer was fierce, autumn was gentle, spring was lovely, and winter was so hard, but you will love him through all the seasons.
