POV: Artemis

Location: Hunters' Camp, Pine Barrens, NJ.

I walked into camp, deep in thought. The council seemed relatively neutral on the matter of my possibly reincarnated Guardian. In fact, the only people who showed interest were Athena, Hermes, and ugh, Aphrodite.

Do I have solid proof that this Percy is in fact the Percy from thousands of years ago? Well, no. All I have is a very, very strong feeling that he is. If this Percy Jackson is not my Guardian, then there most certainly is something very special about him.

Actually, I was so deep in thought, that I didn't even realize where I was until someone began calling out.

"Lady Artemis! Watch out for the-"

CRASH!

"-fire pit..."

I stagger up and shake away the pain. I had in fact walked right into the fire pit and tripped over the stones. Gods, that was embarrassing. I pick myself up and attempt to brush the soot off of my clothes, but to no avail. I now looked like I was wearing black clothes with silver highlights, instead of just silver clothes.

Phoebe runs over, "Are you alright M'Lady?"

"Yes Phoebe." I reply, "Just a little distracted."

She shifts from one foot to the other, "If I may ask, is it because of the boy? Perseus?"

"Percy." I correct instinctively, "And yes, it is because of him. It is more than a little unnerving that he has appeared again."

"So, all those stories Zöe and Catania told us, they're true?" The daughter of Ares asks.

"Yes, they are." I respond, sighing sadly.

"It just seems so, unbelievable." Phoebe says, "I mean, I've heard of the Guardians as an order, but they were disbanded close to a century before I joined the Hunt."

"I'm certain you have many more questions." I say, "And on that note, if you see Zöe, could you please tell her to bring the boy to my tent when he awakens, I have a few questions for him."

"But what about-" Phoebe cuts herself off, "Yes Lady Artemis."

I smile at her softly, "Don't worry, everything will be sorted out soon. You have my word."

Phoebe nods and runs off towards the medical tent, where I notice a lone figure standing outside the flap. I turn in the other direction and enter my tent.

Once there, I close my eyes and begin to meditate and think about the council meeting. As if waiting for a chance to spring a trap, a certain annoying love goddess enters my brain.

Took a bit of a spill there Hon. She says in my head. I'm sure your Guardian wouldn't have allowed you to fall. He would've seen you start to fall, and come running. Aphrodite giggle mentally. Yes, that is worse than hearing it out loud. He would've caught little Artemis before she touched the ground, and them swept her off her feet.

What are you going on about? I demand. Better question: how in Hades are you in my head?

She laughs. Your mental shields are weak today, sister. Though I don't find you head particularly enjoyable. That memory over there, ewww. A memory of me killing a deer flashes for a second, then disappears. But I guess it's worth it if I get to see that.
