Goddess' first love

1st

"HEDONE!"

Oh gods, kinuha ko ang malaking unan saka itinakip sa tenga ko.

"HEDONE! TUMAYO KA DIYAN!" I groan at my mother's voice. And aga aga nakasigaw agad siya.

"Mom!" palag ko ng hinatak niya ang kumot. Buti na lang wala siyang ibang kasama dahil wala akong kahit na anong suot—mas komportable akong matulog ng walang damit.

"Gods, up until now hindi ka pa rin nagsusuot ng kahit ano kapag natutulog ka?" pumunta siya sa tabi ko at umupo.

"What now?"

Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko at tiningnan ako sa mata. She really is beautiful—so beautiful. Maybe that is why my father really love her and never siyang niloko unlike sa mga ibang gods. Two or more lover may mean power to other gods and godesses but I want my father and mother's faithfulness.

"You should dress now."

"Where are we going, mom?"

"To Aphrodite" I froze at the name. Tiningnan ko siya na umiwas naman sakin.

"And why?"

"She wants to see you"

"Well, I don't."

"Hedone—" I cut my mom's word. "No, mom. I don't want to see her and also I have a responsibility, remember?"

Naningkit na naman ang mata niya. "Huwag mo sabihin na pupunta ka na naman sa mundo ng mga tao."

"Uhm"

"Delikado doon, Hedone." sinuklay niya ang buhok ko parang dati na lagi niyang ginagawa para makatulog ako.

"Mom. I can manage and besides I love visiting their place. It's a pleasure to see them surrender to my powers."

"Okay," oh gods I can hear a but, "But we'll have a breakfast first with your dad" well that is easy because we do that EVERYDAY.

I smile at her, niyakap niya ako at tumayo na para lumabas ng kwarto ko pero bago pa man siya makalabas ay nagsalita ako, "Good morning, mom."

Lumingon siya sakin and for a second I am in awe to her beauty.

She smiled, "Good morning too, princess."

Then she left. My mother is so gorgeous no wonder ayaw sakanya dati ni Aphrodite. Well, kailangan ko rin mag-thank you sa pagiging insecure niya dahil nagkita sila ni dad at nandito ako ngayon but still— I hate her.

"Hedone, why is it that everyone's talking about you and the neglected throne of yours?" I roll my eyes dramatically at my dad and sigh.

"Dad, come on! You know how much I admire to see them fall in love and give in to pleasure. At hindi neglected ang throne ko, dad. Before I go to their world sinisigurado kong maayos doon."

My dad sigh but smile.

"You are so good at your job, daddy. Sana maging katulad mo rin ako someday," I sigh again "Yung iba kasi mas inuuna pleasure kaysa love. They don't know what they're missing."

I look at my mom and dad—and gods—how I wish na magkaroon din ako ng katulad ng meron sila.

"Then it means more work for you, princess." dad said with a smile as he took another bite on the steak.

"I am a goddess, daddy."

"But you are our princess." my mom replied with a warm smile. Nakangiti si daddy habang nakatingin kay mommy. They're so in love. I want that—no matter what—I want to expirience that love.

"Dad, pwede mo ba akong panain so I don't need to envy you and mom everyday, please." I bat my lashes hard as I give a full smile to them. They just laugh at me that made me pout.

"Hedone, it's not that easy. You see, we have certain procedures and rules everytime we get our job done—parang yung sayo." he explains softly as if I am a child.

"I just want to experience what you have." it's almost a whisper and my mom and dad look at me with full of concern in their eyes.

Tinuloy ko na lang yung pagkain ko. Yes, I know their story I mean who wouldn't, right? They are the famous Eros and Psyche that conquers all but what a shame na yung nag-iisang anak nila ay never pang naranasan ma-inlove for the past 29 years.

"In time, princess. You will."

"What?" hindi ko masyadong sure kung tama ang dinig ko kay daddy dahil na rin sa mga iniisip ko.

"You will experience how to love and to be loved, princess." he said it like he was sure of it.

"In time, baby. And it will be wonderful." my mom added and its enough to make me smile. They said it like a promise, like they knew. And for some reason I believe them.

"Going to that world again, huh?" I scoff at Algos.

"Wala ka bang ibang magawa?" naiirita kong sabi, he always follow me around and it's irritating me to the bones.

"Come on, Hedone."

"What?"

"Ano bang gusto mo sa lugar na yun? Mga wala silang kwenta; mahihina, mababaw, at walang ibang inisip kundi mga sarili nila. Shitty bastards" he says matter of fact.

"I don't have to answer you, Algos."

He looked at me, "Then I'll go with you."

"Oh gods, really now?" I throw my hands up in the air irritated by his presence.

"Its either we go together or we will stay here. Your call." he can't be serious, right? He looked at me and for a moment I want to punch him straight in his face because I know he is dead serious.

"Fine!" I shouted as I walk towards him, "But don't you dare tell this to anyone."

Hindi naman sa pinagbabawal ang pagpunta sa mundo ng mga tao pero may maximum visit per month at appropiate way kasi.

Naglakad na ako papunta sa likod ng templo ko na merong malaking hardin ng marinig kong magsalita si Algos sa likod ko.

"You know I will never put you in any danger, Hedone."
