20 years ago, 3rd person POV
"Come to eomma, Y/N!"

That was the last time she ever heard her mom. After she said that, there were 2 bangs, and both her parents fell to the ground. There were 2 more bangs and her best friend's parents fell to the ground.

6 year old Y/N didn't understand why her parents weren't moving. She walked over to them, concerned. The freshly cut grass tickled the bottom of her soft feet. The wind lightly brushed her raven black hair. Her small body was a perfect fit for the white t-shirt and blue overalls her dad bought for her. The sun was setting and it created a beautiful pink background. The usual smell of newly cut grass was covered by the smell of something salty. It was the blood of her parents, but she didn't know that yet.

Her 6 year old brain decided that her parents decided just to fall asleep right there. She toddled over to her favorite red swing and sat down with a thump. She swung a little, but got bored rather quickly. Y/N hated silence. She looked around, looking for someone to talk to that was still awake. In front of her, there were beautiful, tall, and dark green pine trees. They matched nicely with the sunset. Her best friend, Eunmi, who was under the shade of a pine tree, was sleeping peacefully next to her dead parents. Y/N yearned to talk to her, but didn't want to wake her up. She sighed. To the right of her was a lonely country road that led to her house, which was a mansion built by her grandfather.

A twig snapping brought her out of her silent state and she looked in the direction of the sound.

A man in black was staring back at her.

Y/N tilted her head at him, wondering who he was. She thought that he was probably someone that her parents invited to play with them. She timidly took a step off of her swing and walked to the man. The man looked down at her, deciding what to do. His boss told him to kill her parents, but no one told him what to do with her. Y/N took another step and stopped.

"Hi! Can you play with me?" she asked. The man's heart melted. He really wasn't going to kill a little kid. After a little mental struggle, he spoke.

"Sure, why not?" he said, crouching down.

"Will mommy and daddy come and play too?" she asked. She tried to turn around to ask her parents but the man grabbed her chin and gently turned her chubby face back to him.

"They will, but for now, let's go in my car, it's getting dark," he said, holding out his arms for Y/N to climb into. Without hesitation, she jumped.

"What about Eunmi?" she asked, looking back one last time towards her peaceful best friend.

The man thought it over. He could take both kids but something told him that Y/N should be the only one staying with him.

"I'll take her with us," he said, gently setting Y/N down and jogging to Eunmi.

In the car

"Lucy, I'm back," the man said to someone in the driver's seat. He climbed into the back side with Y/N and Eunmi, who was still sleeping, in his arms.

"Oh, Mark, is the job done?" she asked.

"Yeah. Just a question, did boss tell us any instructions with what to do with the kids?" he questioned.

"Uh, no. Where are the kids?" she asked. Mark opened his mouth but Y/N beat him to the answer.

"Are you my auntie?" she asked, a smile on her face. The woman whipped around and found herself face to face with Y/N. She was unsure if she should answer but the man nodded his head vigorously.

"Yes, I am your auntie," she responded. "Can you be a good girl and sit in the backseat for us?"

"Sure auntie!" she exclaimed and plopped down in the backseat. The man gently put Eunmi next to Y/N. The man then walked out of the car and made his way to the passenger seat. Once he got in, the woman leaned in and had a whispered conversation with him.

"Didn't boss say to kill everyone there?" she asked, clearly confused why there was a survivor.

"Wrong, he said to kill the parents not anyone else," he leveled.

"Yeah, but what do we do with them?" the woman asked. The man sat and thought for a minute before an idea popped into his head.

"We can turn her into an assassin, just like what June's doing!" he exclaimed, proud of his own predicament.

"Mm, good idea," said the woman. "What about the other one?"

"We can give her to Jisoo's parents, they want a child, and they can turn her into another assassin," said the man after a while of thinking hard.

The woman nodded.

She turned around to face Y/N.

"Sweetie, what's your name?" she asked.

"Y/N!" she responded.

"Well Y/N, you can call me Lucy, and your uncle here, you can call Mark," she said.
