"There ya go," you said, patching up the last soldier of the day. He'd been working on one of the X-Wings when his friend "jokingly" pushed him, damn idiot caused him to fall off the wing and get pretty banged up.

"Thanks Doc, always a miracle worker," he replied, you politely laughed at his remark and gave him a slip that granted him a few rest days along with a bottle of some painkillers.

"Well don't go making me patch you all up everyday and maybe I won't have to be one!" You said as you walked away, hearing a slight chuckle arise from the mechanic putting a smile on your face.

You've been nicknamed wings around the base for your ability to save men who seemed like they couldn't be saved. What they don't know is you've been using your abilities as a force healer to save some very unlucky soldiers. You haven't told Leia you've been force healing patients. You don't even think she knows you got a grasp on the ability in the first place. Regardless, you were saving lives, and that's all that mattered to you.

"Doctor Fresno, I'm taking my leave to attend the briefing, is that okay?" You asked as you walked down to the break area. Doctor Fresno was your greatest mentor. You still vividly remember the days you spent sulking around the base, looking in with wonder at the work the doctors did each day. Fresno graciously decided to take you in. From stitches to full blown surgeries, he has taught you all of it. You couldn't have asked for a greater mentor.

"Yes yes, you deserve it. You worked a twelve hour shift Y/N!" He said as he looked down at his watch in astonishment, "By the stars take a break! I'll see you tomorrow!"

You hung up your once white coat, ready to finally take some time off. There weren't really Fridays with the resistance, any moment off was your Friday and then you got right back to work. But today was special, as there were supposed "new developments" that we were to be briefed on. You were excited as you made your way down the hall to mission control.

"There's my girl!" you heard a loud voice roar as you felt a large arm wrap around you neck. Poe. It was always Poe.

"Poe what are you doing!" You said aggravated as he ruined the hair on the top of your head. You flattened it all out as he laughed at you, he knew it bothered you but never let up on his stupid way of greeting you. Well, you always said it was stupid but you but you secretly thought it was sweet, it always brought a tiny smile to your face when he wasn't looking. He kept his arm around your shoulder as you both walked.

"You ready for this? Everyones been talking, they're saying its something big," Poe said excitedly, but you knew he was looking at you with concern. Everyones heard the rumors of the map, and you were no exception. Poe was right to look at you like that, you were internally consumed by the mere thought of finding Master Luke. Just the hope that he was alive kept you moving everyday.

"Yeah I'll be fine," you answered in all seriousness, doing your best to hide your anxiety, "If it is true however, I am, and I mean without a doubt, getting on that mission," you stated with a fierce sense of determination.

"Woah woah, calm down!" He said implored in a joking tone, "It's gonna be fine! We'll get you on it. They can't deny your skills any longer, you practically lifted a whole X-Wing yesterday!" He said, you smiled at the sincere astonishment in his words. He's not wrong. Leia has been holding you back from missions for years now knowing full well you've been ready. You were practically itching to get out there. She couldn't know that though, if she sensed your impatience there's no way you could snag a mission.

Your thoughts were cut short as you entered the bustling room. Dozens had already entered, excitement and nervousness coursing through the stiff air. You could not join them in that feeling, you had to stay calm, you had to know if the rumors were true before you let any emotions loose.
