I sat alone in the dining hall rolling a small ball back and forth, it's been a month since Yuni was adapted, and she hadn't even sent one letter yet. Maybe she forgot about me, or maybe she found her prince she always wanted and just decided she didn't want to. I put my head on the table and groan
"Aww what's wrong my little snowflake" a soft voice spoke, I look up to see mama standing there with a sweet smile on her face, her white hair went down to her hips and her icy blue eyes stared into my blue ones.
A lot of the kids here especially Yuni always said me and mama look alike because we have the same colored hair and eyes, they even joke about her being my real mom, but I doubt that.
"Hey mama...it's just Yuni said she'd write to me, but she hasn't yet" I said sadly, she sits beside me
"I'm sure she's just trying to settle in, it's only been a week Saki" she said
"Yea I know, but she said as soon as she makes it to her new house she'd write to me" I pout
"Then maybe she hasn't made it home yet, the people that adapted her did say they live pretty far from here" she said
"Maybe" I said
"Tell you what, how about you help me make dinner" she smiles, I shake my head
"Not in the mood" I pout, mama stares at me. It's quiet for awhile before she speaks up
"Well I guess if you don't wanna help cook...you can't help me bake cookies" she said, my head immediately looks her way
"Cookies?" I said
"Yes, I thought it'd be a nice desert after dinner" she said crossing her arms
"Oh would you look at that I'm in the mood now" I said standing up, she giggles
"Good, now come on" she said as she stands up, I smile and stand up with her. I take her hand and we walk to the kitchen.
We start to make dinner, of course I wasn't allowed to use the knife because of the last incident...or allowed near the stove. I mostly just washed off vegetables and observed.
After we finished dinner mama told me to go tell everybody it was time to eat, I nod and ran out the kitchen
"Don't run in the house Saki!" Mama called. I giggle and hurry outside.
Once I'm outside I get tackled to the ground.
"Haha, we've captured the evil witch" one of the little ones said. I laugh and grab him, I toss him in the air and catch him
"If you step any closer, I'll eat em" I said in a witch like voice. The other children gasp and step back
"Saki your so childish" Ava said. I look over at her
"I am not!" I yell. She giggles
"You are to" Cade said walking over to us
"I was only joking, calm down" Ava laughs.
"I wasn't though" Cade smiles. I storm over to him
"Take it back!" I shout
"Nope" he said as he thumps my nose
