After eating the gross cookies Dr. Simon gave me, I sat at his desk and snooped through his stuff while he was busy getting whatever set up.
I open a few drawers only to find more folders and papers with random information I didn't understand really.
I sigh and sit back in the spinning seat
"They wouldn't mind if I take a look around the place" I said as I get up and sneak out the lab. I scurry down a hall and soon easily get lost, this place was huge.
The hall way I walked down was dull with barley any light, it was much different from the lab that was brightly lit.
I stop when I hear footsteps coming down the hall, I quickly look around for a hiding spot but there wasn't any. I then notice a door and quickly open it and hide inside.
I listen as the footsteps walk past the door and it gets quieter, I sigh in relief.
"S-Saki?" A familiar voice said. Wait no it couldn't be, I turn to see Cade sitting in a cell. He wore the same white t-shirt and white shorts as me.
"Cade?!" I shout as I rush over to him.
"Saki, it really is you" he said
"I thought they killed you" I said
"They were going to, until mama suggested something different" he said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"That doesn't matter, what matters is that you gotta get out of here, I saw the exit to the outside world I can tell you where it is and then—" I cut him off
"Cade I can't escape..." I said
"What?! Why not?!" He shouts. I shush him and he covers his mouth
"Because... I made a deal with the demons" I said
"What?! Have you gone mad?!" He shouts
"Cade, keep your voice down" I said. He sighs
"Saki, why would you make a deal with them?" He asked
"Because they offered something I couldn't say no to" I said
"And that would be?" He asked
"The freedom of our siblings...they said if I do everything they say without question or resisting, they would let them go" I said
"Do you actually believe that? Saki their demons who kill us just for food,you shouldn't trust them" he said.
"But what if their telling the truth?" I asked
"I doubt it..." he mumbles. It gets quiet between us.
"What did they do to you?" I asked breaking the quiet
"Nothing...yet, there were other kids in my cell but they took them away, and they never brought them back" he said
"What do you think they did to them?" I asked
"Kill them, eat them...I don't know, but what ever happened to them I don't want to happen to me" he said
"Nothing's gonna happen to you Cade" I said
"Tch I doubt that" He asked
"I'll make sure of it" I said
"How?" He asked
"Simple, I'll tell the demons I wanna add something to our deal which will be your freedom" I said
