"Do you ever feel that sometimes things are too much?" Maya asked and Josh looked at her.
"Darling, what is going on?" Josh asked.
"A lot. My dad hit me when I was little," Maya said and Josh looked at her.
"Wow," Josh said and Maya exhaled.
"Maya, I'm so sorry. I thought that growing up with parents like mine where they raise you very old age was bad. Being hit by your father is worse and I wish that to no one. How did you stop it?" Josh asked.
"He left," Maya said.
"Better so. I'm sure that is over now," Josh said.
