Forbidden Romance Chapter One

Start from the beginning

I was essentially fearless.

"You were late to class," Mr Nelson began. "I'm required to give you detention, Lana. I'm sorry."

"Oh," I sighed. "Who will I do detention with?"

"Me," he smiled. "And any other students that I happen to have turn up late to class today."

"Fair enough," I moaned. "I'll be here at 3."

"See you then," he said cheerfully as the senior Ancient History class walked in around me.

I glumly slumped off to Trigonometry, dragging my feet along the ground. I had a major hate for this school, but the attractive History teacher made me want to sit in that classroom each and every day... all day. I had no idea why I liked him, but I did.

Oh, my God! Eww! I was crushing on a teacher. What was wrong with me? I was a sixteen year old girl! And he was definitely in his thirtys.

But still...

Surprisingly, I couldn't wait for detention. And seriously, who wants to go to detention?

The day went annoyingly slow. But finally, the end of school came, and I was walking excitedly but irritatingly to my History classroom. The green trees, the ferns, the potted palms... plants encircled me, and I felt like I was in a forest.

Okay, my mind seriously went off-track of well, anything really just then. Pretty lame, I thought. But I had made it to the History classroom. I raised my hand to knock on the door, but it swung open. Mr Nelson stood in the doorway, smiling.

"Thankyou for coming, Lana," he smiled. I gave him a weak, timid smile as I entered the classroom. I walked over and took a seat.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked, pulling my books out.

"The homework I set for tonight, please," he said, looking out the window. He shut the blind on the door window and walked over to his seat.

"What are you looking for?" I asked nosily.

"The headmaster makes visits to all the classrooms that have students on detention," he sighed. "I only have you today, and there aren't any other detentions."

"I'm like, the only kid on detention?" I asked loudly.

"Yeah, well most kids don't get themselves on detention the first day of the semester," he chuckled.

"I do like to stand out," I grinned.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Mr Nelson leapt out of his seat and walked over to the door. The headmaster, Mr Carrow, stood sternly in the doorway.

"Hello, Benjamin," he smirked, walking in the door. "Miss Danielson, nice to see nothing's changed from last year," he added, giving me a small nod.

"Hello, Headmaster," I greeted him weakly.

"What are you here for this time, Lana?" Mr Carrow asked. "Truancy? Graffiti? Smoking in the girls' toilets?"
