"Calliope!"

"Eeek!" Documents rain out of my hands in surprise while my name bellows through my tiny office from the calamity that is Jessie Jeremiahs. Dust specs that were neatly hidden now danced everywhere, I reward Jessie for his mayhem with a glare. He now looks bashfully apologetic, pouting won't reorganize my work now will it?

Does knocking logic ever connect in his mind? I suppose his species were never used to too much silence or common sense.. Jessie was your cookie cutter tan Socal boy from an old Spaniard family with even older money. Loved all over the UCLA campus for being boisterous, confident and more often than not to my displeasure: spontaneous

He was the farthest thing from my type

You know them, they're in your high school or work place. The types who adored attention and thrived in spotlight. I mean the man was on the brinks of being scouted to the NFL for his outstanding football efforts, perfect career for an attention seeker.

I did see him play once during Homecoming in the first year of my masters program when he was a freshman, safe to say that Jessie was a lightening natural. As if he was crafted to play football, wooing the crowd with his buoyant charisma and dashing antics.

"Oop, sorry bout that honey.." his large figure dips down and helps me retrieve the papers and I sigh "Why can you never enter my office or call my name without an extra rouse..my parents never named me 'Honey' Mr. Jeremiahs."

His attitude doesn't change from the scolding, Jessie only returns the papers to me with a giddy smile
