Chapter 1: Those are muscles, not fat!!

'Hi, babe. What can I do for you?' Jason Gilbert asked as I stepped into school.

'Don't babe me.' I retorted as my brother, Ashton Huntley, clamped his fist with Jason.

'You sure you don't want a big hug from me?' He tried again.

'And let you crush my bones? No, thank you.'

'Awww, I'm not that bad.'

'Maybe not, but it's your fat that crush my bones!' I smirked, walking away from my brother and his best friend, Jason.

'Hey, those are muscles, not fat!!' He called.

'Whatever makes you sleep at night, my prince!' That was not a nickname, in fact, most the servants in the palace called him that, as he was really a prince. A real one. Yep, his parents were the king and queen. Fortunately, he was not the kind of stuck up prince, in fact, he was actually really nice to most people, but I wouldn't deny he's cocky and arrogant. As much as I hated him, I'd have to admit he was going to be a great king later. (He was the heir to the throne) Yes. I hated him even though he was my brother's best friend. I didn't know why, but we'd never seen eye to eye on anything and I didn't think we'd ever had a civilized conversation. Not that I was complaining.

He was not just the prince, but our country's golden boy. Everyone adored him, and according to Sixteen, the teen magazine of Sherfil -our country, he had the perfect life (agreed) , perfect parents/family (agreed ), perfect grades (not sure), perfect manners (OBJECTION!!), perfect appearance (a lot of guys were hotter), and perfect reputation (yes). But I wouldn't judge him by those things, since you really had to know a person well to judge him by those things. And trust me, I'd never went out of my way to get to know him.

Actually, I was a royalty too. My father's 'Duke of Thelisia' and my mom's 'Duchess of Thelisia'. So, I'm Lady Brianna of Thelisia. Luckily, Jason and I were not related, my great, great- grandfather won a battle or something and the king was so grateful of him that he became a duke.

Unlike some countries, our royalty had great powers and the king still ruled the country. The kings before, including Jason's father, the current king, all did great jobs in ruling the country, so Sherfil was still in peace.

I reached my locker and saw my best friend Trisha watching me with a bemused expression, I didn't know why, but she always finds 'Jason and my bickering funny and cute', her words, not mine.

'What?' I asked.

'Hey Anna, hey Trish. What's up? You know that's how normal conversations go.'

'You're so funny that my insides hurt from laughing too much.' I glared at her as I grabbed the books from my locker.

'You know, I still don't understand why you hate him so much, I mean he's the prince. Girls would do anything just to say hi to him or your brother.'

I sighed and looked towards Jason and Ashton . Sure enough there were girls looking at them and shamelessly flirting with them. They flirted back, but I knew they weren't really interested. Many thought they would be players, but they weren't. Mostly because of their royal reputation, but also because they just weren't that kind of guys.
