"You were supposed to bring me my daughter"

The kitchen was perfumed with the dish the leader of the Spree was cooking, the mushrooms were sizzling in the pan, from the other room a few people were singing and playing guitar.

Scylla stood there, frozen, confused, shocked. *I have been sleeping with my boss' daughter*, being the first thought that came to her mind. Well that's kinda awkward. A million words came across her, but she didn't know what to say.

"I ...  Raelle is -" Scylla said stuttering

"Sit" Willa said it with a soft but strict tone; presenting her a plate filled with mushrooms, greens, rice and Scylla's favorite, lobsters. Scylla slowly sat on the chair at her side, carefully, dashing into the dish that was presented to her. Finally, something she likes, and not what the army has been giving her these past weeks.

Willa gave the 19 year old the time to finish her meal. Besides, she knew how ruthless and mean the army could be when they would hold someone captive.

"You were supposed to lure Raelle to us, yet here you are without her. 6pm Penelope Road, I gave you the location, the time, and you didn't deliver her. You suffered the consequences of your own actions for not being careful, not doing as I said."

As the Spree leader was finishing her sentence, Scylla was wiping clean her plate, blurting out the first words that came to her

"You basically sent me to Fort Salem blind on a personal mission. As soon as Anacostia looked at me she started questioning me and threatening me to stay away from... from Raelle... your daughter. And then Porter arrived, how else was I supposed to deal with him when he was trying to get Raelle to run away from me"                                                                                                                            She tried her best to not seem scared while saying those words, besides who knows what Willa would do to her.

A moment of silence resonated in the kitchen. The window was opened, birds were singing. Raelle... the bird skull she had given Scylla *sexy weird, like us*. The necromancer remembered that moment under the tree, tracing the S on the fixer's hand.

"Their graduation, I.. I need to know if she got into War College" said Scylla slowly, looking down at her palm.

"She didn't - Willa implied, looking at Scylla with enraged eyes - I've been informed by someone, on the inside, she has been sent on the front lines with her unit. To retrieve the last of the Tarims.... Alder's orders."

The young necro's heart started palpitating, her hands started to shake, she gulped. " She.. The Bellweather unit .. -"

"I will receive more information soon when they'll return. - Willa frowned - Why do they matter to you so much? The mission you were supposed to succeed was to bring my daughter to us. Is there something you would like to mention..?" said Raelle's mother looking at Scylla suspiciously.

"It's just... you know we wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her. Of course so she could return safely to you - there was no way Scylla was going to tell Willa that she fell in love with her daughter  - Who informed you about this? Is there someone else who is Spree a Fort Salem" alsed Scylla trying to divert the subject from the fact that she care for the unit.

"It's nothing for you to worry about. When I'll receive more news about their return, I'll inform you on how to proceed with the mission" said Willa as she was starting to clean up the kitchen.

Scylla slowly turned around to go to the living room*Raelle on the front lines with Alder? War meat.. No.. Raelle is strong, nothing bad happened I need to stay positive*. Even while Scylla was thinking of all this, something felt wrong, different, she just couldn't shake it.

Doesn't seem like Willa knew much also about what Raelle and her had done the first night they met. Well... that's kind of a relief. Or was she pretending to not know just to see if Scylla would come forward about sleeping with her daughter?

Her head was spinning. Too many thoughts circling in her mind. She sat on a couch, birds still chiming outside, slipping her hand into her pocket where she had Raelle's bird skull. Holding to the charm as if it was the only the thing that could make her happy at the moment, or make her feel... safe.

She fell asleep to the cold breeze that came through the window, thinking of Raelle...

She still loves her.
