She pulled out her hot pink hair-drier and started blow-drying Fitz's hair. As it got dryer, the blue started showing up, until his hair was completely dry and his hair was completely blue.
"You're a reverse Smurf!" Alvar said, pointing at Fitz's hair and laughing his head off.
And Sophie kind of agreed—the blue did kind of resemble a Smurf, but...
"It doesn't look that bad," Sophie said—being completely honest. "Sure it's a little weird, but it's not bad."
"Just wait until mom and dad see it," Biana said with a grin, grabbing Fitz's hand and dragging him downstairs.
"You don't actually think it looks bad, do you?" Sophie asked Alvar since they'd stayed behind.
"No," Alvar said with a laugh. "But I don't think it looks that good either,"
And Sophie also kind of agreed with that, but that didn't really matter too much. Fitz was stuck with that hair until they got back to California, so she'd just have to live with it.
"So...Fitz told me you were a philanthropist," Sophie said, trying to spark up a conversation again.
Alvar shrugged his shoulders. "I'm trying to be—it's not as easy as it sounds,"
"It honestly doesn't sound that easy," Sophie told him, but then decided that wasn't a very nice thing to say. "Um...other than going to different states, what do you do for fun?"
Alvar's eyes suddenly tuned bright as he said, "I like going to cafes and then looking at people and matching them up with other people,"
"So..." Sophie said, trying to hold back a laugh. "You're like an unprofessional matchmaking stalker?"
Alvar laughed. "Pretty much,"
§§§
"Because yes," Fitz said, rolling his eyes at Biana. "Going to a picnic with blue hair is definitely a fashion statement,"
"It is," Biana said with a grin. "Your hair looks so good with the ocean. Oh my goodness! I have an idea—"
"That's dangerous," Alvar mumbled, earning a punch in the arm from Biana.
"Anyway," Biana said. "I think we should have a picnic fashion show!"
"I think that's a wonderful idea," Della said as she laid out the classic red and white picnic blanket.
But instead of a normal picnic, they had a wide and thick piece of wood that acted like a mini table, and it was placed on top of the blanket—then the picnic basket was put on top of that.
"I don't think it's a good idea," Sophie said, biting her lip. "I'm not very photogenic,"
"Don't be silly—you look beautiful in pictures," Fitz said, causing Sophie's face to turn bright red.
Biana brought everyone to different places on the beach and made them look really cool before she took the picture.
Sophie had posed in the water, near a piece of driftwood, and with the picnic basket. Sophie had no idea if any of the pictures were good, but Biana had assured her that they were perfect.
Everyone else posed and got their pictures taken before Biana announced, "I'm posting these on Instagram and no one can stop me!"
And before anyone could stop her, she posted all of them.
"I didn't even get to see if my pictures were any good," Sophie said.
"Well after our picnic you can look on your phone and see," Biana said with a smile.
"Are you all ready to eat?" Alden asked once everyone had come back to their original picnic spot.
"Yes," Everyone said, sitting down around the big piece of wood.
Della passed out the plates and Alden poured everyone some Pepsi before they passed out the food—which was assorted fruit, finger sandwiches, summer sausage, sushi, and vegetables and ranch dip. Eventually, for dessert, they'd be eating apple fritters.
Their discussions were limited, and it was pretty quiet for the most part.
That was until Biana gasped as loud as she could before looking Fitz dead in the eyes and saying, "You know what this means right? You're going to have to go to the party on Saturday with blue hair,"
"Biana!" Fitz groaned, hiding his head in hands. "I'm trying to not think about that,"
"Well it must be hard," Alvar said. "After all, it is your hair,"
"Alvar!" Fitz said glaring at his bother.
Sophie shrugged. "Well, he has a point,"
"Sophie!" Fitz said, giving Sophie a confused look . "Not you too! Why have you let them sway you into their condemning ways?"
Sophie laughed. "Fitz, I was condemning before I met you guys—I just didn't have anyone to condemn, and now I do."
Sophie smiled at Fitz before nudging him, and thankfully he smiled back. "But honestly," She said. "Your hair isn't that bad,"
Fitz sighed, but a smile was still on his face. "You're just saying that because you have to,"
"You're right," Sophie said. "But that doesn't mean it's not true,"
Fitz opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off when Biana said, "Ugh! Can you guys stop being all sappy? It's making me lose my appetite—and those apple fritters look really good."
