Wings Of Fire - shifting lives

Hatching day

It was warm in the egg, it felt safer in there then out of the egg. She could hear her parents fighting she knew she had to come out soon "why don't you just smash it if you hate it SO much!" Her mother screamed at her father "it wouldn't be any wasn't" he snap back, she start pushing on the inside of the egg, her parents went quiet she heard them muttering but couldn't make out much "is it hatching?" Her mother said quietly "well then guess we will have to keep the runt" her father growled softly.

she kicked a piece of the egg cracking it more she poked her head out of the hole peering at her parents "hello there" her mother smiled as her father stayed quiet walking away, the dragonet peered around the room seeing two other dragonets behind her mothers back. "What should we name her?" Her mother said to her father "how about.....nothing because I don't care" her father muttered, her mother's eyes rolled then picked her up "we will call you gila after the Gila monster, and I'm your mother, quicksilver" Her mother smiled then looked over at her father excepting him to say his name but he stayed quiet not even making eye contact "and that's your father bushfire".

she scanned bushfire as her mother set her down, she crawl over to him, her father growled deeply as she poked his talon "what do you want" he snap then flicked his talon up hitting her knocking her away "she's only a few hours old!" Her parents began to fight again she block their yelling out and pattered over to her brother and sister.

she sniffed them and her brothers voice spoke "hey little sis, I'm your brother, rattle" he smiled down at her putting a big wing over her, his scales were warm as she leaned into him then her sister spoke "and I'm lizard" her sister dipped her head to meet her eyes and she smiled to, they all looked back at their parents fighting "brother, I'm scared for her safety" her sister said in a low voice "it's okay, I'll keep both of you safe"
