~Chapter 16~ I Missed The Part Where That's My Problem

~ Lexington Corp~

The elevator doors opened as Sean walked out of it; he was still bothered with the conversation he had with Erika last night, he never wanted her to feel the way she felt last night and feels like shit for it. Maybe he should just give up his feelings he has for Ashley but then denying the fact that he even has feelings for her because of him not being the right man for her either; Sean sat his bag near his desk and sat down in his chair. Carmen approached Sean from behind and hugged him; Sean laughed as she wrapped her arms around him and getting a kiss on the cheek from her.

"Hey, handsome; how was your off day?" Carmen asked as she walked over to her desk.

"It was alright, got a lot of things done. I think Peter is starting to have a soft spot for me." Sean said as he's looking through his emails; Carmen chuckled and pull out her portion of the project and looked at Sean, sensing that Sean was bothered by something and noticing him tapping the desk with his pen. Carmen groaned in irritation when she spotted Jacob from across the office, she rolled her eyes as he blew her a kiss and looked away from him; Sean noticed Jacob walking into Peter's office and closed the door behind him, Sean noticed Carmen's irritated face.

"You didn't come into work yesterday" he said. Carmen nodded her head and continued looking at her work, Sean sighed.

"Atticus told me what happened between you and Jacob a couple of nights ago" Sean reminded her, she looked up at him, took a deep breath, and nodded her head.

"I didn't come in yesterday because of what happened, I felt uncomfortable and decided to not come in; I'm not sure what Peter sees in Jacob but I feel for Ashley and just hope that she doesn't go through with the marriage. Fucking asshole... Luckily enough, it didn't take long for me to get over what happened and decided to come in and begin working on the rest of our project" Carmen said as she darted a sharp look towards Jacob; Jacob was leaning back in his chair as his team working on the project. Sean stood up from his desk and stormed over to Jacob, Jacob stood up from his desk and clapped his hands.

"Look who finally decided to come into work today!! Are you done being lazy? Getting invites to things that you people shouldn't be invited to" Jacob smirked.

"I would like you to explain why you made Carmen uncomfortable yesterday? Do you know how to treat a woman at all?" Sean questioned him. Jacob chuckled and walked around his desk, towards Sean.

"Of course I do! That's why I have Ashley wrapped around my finger and I'm sorry that she felt uncomfortable" Jacob leaned in Sean's ear. "Maybe if she let me take her home that night, maybe I could've shown her how it feels to be around a real man" Jacob whispered and chuckled, Sean grabbed Jacob by the throat and slammed him onto the wall; everyone in the office turned to look what was going on and stood up from their desk.

"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, man... What's your problem, bro?! Look if you want me to stay away from Carmen, I will" Jacob panicked.

"I'm not your bro! If you come anywhere near Carmen or the others again, I will personally rip you apart and end your relationship with Ashley. She doesn't need you ruining her life and keeping her trapped in a place where she doesn't belong" Sean snapped. Jacob pushed Sean away and got into his face.

"You can't tell me how to deal with my FIANCEE!! Who are you to judge?" Jacob said.

"I'm the one that knows about you and Ashley's problem, like how you abuse her knowing that she blacks out! Explain that?"He whispered as he pushed him up against the wall. Everyone in the office gasped in shock and Jacob stood back, looking around the office; everyone in the room was shaking their heads and angry at Jacob for what Sean said he did. He walks over to Sean and sharply inhaled.

"Dude, what are you doing? I will lose everything, my house, my job, even Ashley... Please, I don't want to lose anything" he whispered to him.

"I missed the part where that's my problem" Jacob looked at him in shock and in anger, Sean walked away from Jacob and exit out of the office; Jacob is standing there, shaking and looking at everyone. Jacob sighed and walked away.

~Ashley's House~

Ashley arrived outside of the house hoping to not run into Jacob in the house and trying to talk to her about starting over and getting back together; she noticed that Jacob's car wasn't in the driveway and took the opportunity to get out of the car and swiftly rushed to the front door. As she got to the front door; she noticed the gate on the front door unlocked along with the front door, she pulled out her pepper spray from her back pocket and slowly opened the doors. The living room is cluttered with empty beer bottles and beer cans on the table, along with some empty red solo cups on the floor and a half-empty Vodka bottle. None of this really surprised Ashley as she walked over the mess on the floor; all that it did was frustrated her more and proves that she should leave ASAP. Nothing will change her mind about how she feels about Jacob and her hatred at her father for the forced relationship that he pushed her into; she reached the bedroom and sensed a weird feeling in the air, she took a deep breath and quickly turned around. A woman in a blue bikini gasped and dropped the knife, that was in her hand, on the floor, and backed up from Ashley.

"Who the hell are you?" Ashley asked the woman.

"Um... I'm Jacob's girlfriend, Trixy... Who are you?" Trixy replied.

"Jacob's F-... Ex-Fiancee... You worked at Lexington Corp alongside Jacob, how long have you two fooled around?" Ashley asked as she's approaching Trixy, Trixy is slowly backing away from her looking afraid, and ends up hitting the wall.

"We've been seeing each other for... 5 months..." she answered. Ashley backed up in shock and balled up her fist.

"5 months?? Did he hurt you or forced you in anyway?" she snapped, Trixy shakes her head before Ashley pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"W-Who are you calling? Can I l-" Ashley gave her a sharp look and Trixy gasped.

"Hey princess" Peter answered.

"Hey Dad" she replied.

"How are you? Are you ready for tonight?" Peter asked. Ashley silently sighed.

"Yeah, I'm ready" she said. Peter could tell that there's something wrong with his daughter, Ashley couldn't hide anything from Peter.

"What's wrong? You sound a bit... Worried"

"No, not worried. Um, do you have anyone at the job that can help me with something over here at the house? I know that you're busy with the last-minute arrangements for the party, but this needs to be done before I leave" she pleaded. Peter chuckled.

"Of course. I know just the guy, he'll be there in 20 minutes" Peter said.

"Okay. Thanks, dad" Ashley said before hanging up, Trixy looked at her in fear.

"What are you going to do to me?" she asked.

"I'm not going to do anything to you; pick up your clothes, we're about to go digging" she said with a smirk on her face.
