I held my tears as I stood there watching my parents sign the papers.

They don't want me!

I looked down, gripping my skirt that mom put me in before leaving my home, my lovely home.

"She'll be okay Mrs. Reed. I'll take good care of her." A woman's voice said from afar. In her voice was a lie.

"Please take good care of our daughter, she's very special. To us and everyone." That was my father, his voice low and dull.

"I understand Mr. Reed."

I sat up when I heard chairs scrapping the floor, and footsteps that we're getting close to where I was.

"Light, come on." I didn't move. "Light, please get up." I trembled at her voice, but got off the chair I was in.

I glanced up, both my parents smiling sadly at me.

Why would they get rid of me?

Did I do something wrong?

Mom leaned down, holding her hand out to me. I stared at it, why are you leaving me?

I gulped, but slowly placed my hand in hers. They were soft, not like any other hands I ever touched.

She led me outside, her car parked in the drive where dad went to grab something. He came back with a box that was wrapped up nicely. Dad smiled, holding it out to only me.

I grasped the box from him and held it close.

"I'll give you guys alone time." The stranger said which was the woman from earlier. She left without another word.

"Why are you l~leaving me?" I finally began to cry, sobbing harder as I begged them to not leave me. "Please don't leave me!" I screamed.

I dropped the box, holding my hands to my face as I tried to hide from my parents.

"Light, don't cry. We have to do this." Mom whispered. I could feel her wrapping her arms around me.

"Why?" I sobbed.

Mom pulled my hands away from my face, wiping my tears away with her hands. "Because you are special." She held a strong, proud smile as she continued. "You hold the key to life, in here." She placed her hand on my chest where my heart should be.

"I don't care! I want you to stay, you too daddy!" I said as looked at my father. He kneeled down, ruffling my hair.

"Sweetie, you'll understand someday." His eyes shown truth, so I gave him a small nod.

"Is it because I'm a shifter?" I whispered and both my parents tensed up which gave me the answer. "Am I evil or something?"

Mom and dad glared at me.

"Don't you say that Light! You're not evil. You bring light into my eyes, I see the good." I nodded.

"We better go." Dad said suddenly. I gripped moms shirt, crying into it. "Light, you must let go." I shook my head, but was suddenly ripped away by the strange woman who owns this place.

The orphanage...

"No! Mom! Dad!" I screamed as I watch them both get in the car. I heard the car start which I kicked my way out of the woman's arms. I ran to the car, but it drove off.

Leaving me alone.

I felt numb, scared, worthless.

"Let's go." I felt the woman's arms guide me to a building that is filled with humans.
