THIRD POV

Sam stirred in the bed as she dreamed of the green eyes back when she was a child. Somehow, it made her sat up from her bed almost immediately but her fist stung from the pain making her wince. She noticed the white walls around the room and she knew she's inside the infirmary. She saw someone wearing a white coat and called out thinking it was Glenda. To her surprise, it was Dr. Greene.

"Oh, good. You're awake," Dr. Greene said with a deadpanned look.

"Why are you here?" Sam asked with a frowned look.

"Ally called. She informed me you went to a ball of rage. You know better not to get there, Sam" Dr. Greene said as she folded her arms to her chest.

"I know," Sam said with a surrendered look.

"Tell me what happened," Dr. Greene asked the taller girl.

Sam took a deep breath as she recalled everything she remembered to the doctor. She knew she could rely on her... to tell everything she felt, to be vulnerable. Dr. Greene became saddened when Sam mentioned about her parents. She knew it was a very sensitive topic to her, most especially the death. How she survived was still unknown and the only thing that could answer that is Sam's memories.

"You said, you calmed down when Aphrodite held your face. How?" the doctor asked as she crossed her legs, observing Sam.

"Her voice somehow calmed me?" Sam said more like a question. "And then when I looked at her eyes, the demon inside me seemed to calm down also. Then, I was in trance for a while before I faded out," she added while she brushed her thumb over her bruised knuckles.

The doctor was seem confused with her patient's explanation. She thought she needs to talk to her friend about it.

"Alright. It seems like your knuckles the only thing that's been damaged apart from the faces you punched" the doctor concluded as she stood up from her chair, taking a mental note about everything that Sam has told her. "You still need to see your principal before you go home. The boys that you have beaten up went to the hospital since the nurse informed them that she doesn't have the necessary pieces of equipment to stitch them up" she informed Sam who nodded at her instruction.

The doctor left the infirmary, towards the parking lot. Leaning on the side of her car, she picked up her phone and dialed someone she could seek answers from her questions. On the other hand, Ally and Aphrodite were at the backside of the school in a secluded area. Both of them faced each other, Ally having a very serious look.

"Do you have something to tell me, Aphrodite?" Aphrodite flinched a bit on the question. She was nervous because she was alone with Ally and she knew she shouldn't lie to her about anything.

"Tell you about what?" she wanted to know what she was specifically asking for.

"Aphrodite Des Richardson, I'm not blind. I could see you giving a longing look at my best friend. I believe you knew her before I even met her" Ally said and grabbed both of Aphrodite's hands. "Tell me, what is your relationship with her? As much as I'd like not to pry but seeing my best friend clueless of her past, make me want to help her" she pleaded. Aphrodite let out a surrendered sigh.

"You're right... I know her since we were babies. My mother and her adoptive mother are close friends. I met Sam when Rin brought her along with her sister, Annabeth" Aphrodite started. Bringing the memory before made her smile, she and Sam used to be close friends. "We were practically playing whenever the chance occurs. Both of us even made a promise that we'll grow up together," she chuckled at the memory.

"I already liked her back then even when she was still the chubby kid. It was someday in November when I was informed that Sam and her family would travel to London to visit her grandparents and then the car crash news came... I-I was pretty devastated and I almost thought Sam died along with them. Then one day, mom brought me with her to the hospital which was unusual. For the first time in a couple of weeks, I finally saw Sam. She was still in a coma but she was healing. Mom decided to left me there with her to watch over Sam and she knew I wouldn't do anything crazy because I was keenly waiting for Sam to wake up. When her hand twitched, I immediately called Rin who was resting on the couch. Gray eyes slowly stared at mine. She had a confused look and asked me who I was," she said with a pained look. There was a lump on her throat but she held it back.
