"What's his name?" Denki huffed but gave in.
"Shinsou," he mumbled quietly, looking down, but Sero heard him, smiling wide.
"Purple hair, right?" Denki's head shot up, mouth slightly agape.
"How did you...?" Sero chuckled.
"I saw Bakubro dragging him behind him on my way over. He was talking about you, 'ya know? He was having a similar reaction to you." He pointed at him, smiling brightly as a small grin appeared on Denki's face. "He really seems to like you," he said a little more quietly.
"Well, I hope so!" Denki cheered, hoping to radiate his positive energy onto his friend. Sero nodded, smile wavering.
"Me too."

As soon as his shift ended, Kaminari burst out the cafe door, barely stopping to say a quick goodbye to Sero. He rushed down the street, making it back to his apartment in half the usual time. He slammed the door behind him and plopped down on the bed, whipping out his phone from the back pocket of his jeans. He held his breath as he opened up the lock screen, greeted with a picture of a Pikachu beaming at him. It didn't calm his nerves.
"It's okay, it's fine," he mumbled to himself as he pulled up the phone number Shinsou had entered into his device not too long before. "Do I call him, or...? No, that would be too much. I think." Denki continued to mutter to himself. He was starting to sound like Midoriya, a friend of Bakugou's. Or, well, "friend". They didn't really get along.
Denki's finger was hovering over the "call" button, wondering what to do. "Maybe I shouldn't..." But his finger seemed to have plans of its own, slipping and pressing the button. "Ack--!" Denki nearly dropped his phone in surprise as it rang. Before Shinsou could answer it, he ended the call, letting out a sigh of relief. "Maybe a call is too much right now," he declared. Instead, he opened up his messages. A text was the best option.
After many, many minutes of contemplating what to say, Denki decided to send a Pikachu GIF, its short, stubby arm waving. Then he waited for a reply. And waited. And waited. "Why is this taking so long?" he groaned, leaning over to check his phone after what felt like forever, only to be smacked in the face with the realization it had only been about three minutes. Sighing to himself, Denki stepped away from his bed, deciding to do something else while he waited. But as soon as he got to the edge of his room, he heard his phone go off with a notification.
Denki had never shot across his room so fast, nearly falling as he snatched his phone from off of the bedsheets. To his satisfaction, the message was from Shinsou. "Why'd u send me a pic of yourself?" it read. Denki giggled despite his nerves.
"Don't hate on the Pikachu, man," he wrote back, watching to see what Shinsou would say as three dots appeared on the screen, showing him that he was typing.
"I'm not," he replied, "It's cute."
"Don't do it, don't do it," Denki whispered to himself. He so badly wanted to type back, "So are u ;)" but Sero was right; he sucked at making the first move. Flirting with girls was a lot easier, and he really didn't want to mess this up. So, instead, he said, "Of course it is. It's Pikachu."
After a minute, Shinsou asked, "So did u text me just to send me a Pokmon, or was there another reason?" Denki didn't really know what to say. So he did what he did best: avoid the question.
"I thought you told me you liked the Pikachu!"
"I do." The phone showed the three bubbles again, but they quickly disappeared. Denki felt a little pang of sadness until he saw them appear again a minute later and smiled. "But I was hoping there was another reason ;)" A winky face? Why a winky face? What was he talking about?
"Like what?" The only valid response to that. In Denki's mind, at least.
"Like maybe a date ;)" Denki felt his heart stop and his cheeks flush. He nearly threw his phone as he let out a surprised yelp. This wasn't happening. This wasn't happening. This was actually happening...
Denki, after recovering, started typing out a response. Just as he was about to send it, though, he got another message from Shinsou.
"I'm sry! Jirou stole my phone. The Pikachu is fine lol." Oh. It really wasn't happening, huh? Denki felt more upset at that than he should have. He quickly deleted what he was going to say and typed out a new reply.
"It's fine. I should get going anyway, I have some things to get done." It seemed like such a lame excuse, but Denki didn't really want to talk to Shinsou right now anymore. And it wasn't a total lie, he did have some chores to get done, even though he knew he probably wouldn't do them.
"Before you go," Denki started reading. He almost didn't want to finish reading it. Almost. "I was wondering if I could come back to the cafe tomorrow? When is your shift there?" That started to make him feel at least a little bit better. At least Shinsou still wanted to hang out with him.
"Sure! I'm working from noon until five tomorrow," Denki told him, smiling at his phone.
"Great. It's a date."
A/N: Did I add a little Serokami? Maybe. Are they cute? Possibly. Did I make up for it with some more Shinkami? Most Definitely.
