The sun was so bright that I had to use my arm to cover my eyes. I didn't remember going home yesterday or really anything after laughing in class with Simon. I guess I didn't feel good or just slept to hard. Who knows? I got up and looked at the time. Oy seven? I should probably head to school. I took something for headaches and changed into skinny blue jeans with a red and black square plaid jacket around my waist, black knee high boots and a white shirt sleeve shirt putting my hair into a braided bun and looking at myself in the mirror. Sighing I looked away and smiled. It's all going to be okay Isabel. Smile is all it takes. The pain will leave you one day. Simon was already at school at our table with the rest of the soccer team like our usual routine and I sat beside them, drawing while listening to their conversations. Beck was going to ask a boy out that he's liked for some time and Simon offered to help him. I yawned softly and was caught off guard when I looked up and met the new girls eyes. She wore the same black hoodie and dark grey jeans today. She was a mystery that I wanted to unravel but didn't want to bother her yet.

Simon: "earth to shorty. Where's your head today? You seem spaced out. Was the music teacher to harsh on you yesterday?"

What? Yesterday? I shook my head no, confused why he asked and wondered of it was part of my memory loss but decided against telling them cause they'd think I was crazy. Or joking. I waved and told them I was going for a walk around the track. The air was a little cold but I inhaled it and closed my eyes, wincing at the memories of my past.

Isabel: "Not the time to come back to me you stupid thoughts. Just.. Focus on something else."

I spun, hearing a voice I didn't recognize and saw the girl Avalina standing leaned against a pole, wind slightly blowing in the wind and a sudden dangerous feeling surfaced.

Avalina: "What thoughts might those "stupid thoughts" be if I may ask? "

I met her eyes, standing still. Unable to move really for some reason.

Isabel: "Why would you want to know such a thing.. If I may ask."

She looked me up and down before settling on my eyes once again.

Avalina: "You're definitely different than the rest. What about you isn't normal though? Is it the mask you cover up with, or the fact I can't read you."

I looked at her, so confused on what she meant by that. What in the hell? She really sounded like someone who thought she was on top.

Isabel: "who even are you? Why do you talk like you matter more than the rest of us when newsflash you don't."

She looked amused.

Avalina: "Interesting. My names Avalina but you already knew that didn't you. Glad to meet you but it seems we have class soon. You should hurry."

I sighed. Usually I was bubbly and outgoing but I didn't feel like it today.

Isabel: "Isabel."

She nodded and went back inside without saying another word to me. I didn't even want to question that conversation. I looked up when the rain started. Not caring my shirt was white and would become see through. I decided to skip school and just head home for the day. I wasn't feeling up to it today. I jumped the fence and walked in the rain.

Man: "what's a beautiful young lady like you doing out here alone looking so sad?"

I sighed and looked at the male. He was older than me by a lot and clearly drunk as hell. I sighed to myself and met his eyes.

Isabel: "Why do you think you'd even stand a slight chance with me?"

He chuckled and looked me up and down, sending shivers up my spine and a small whimper left my lips to the anger in his eyes.

Man: "You stupid slut. You're out here looking like that and you think you can just say no to me?"

I moved to the left went he went to slap me and I caught it with my right hand.

Isabel: "You shouldn't mess with me. I promise you really don't wanna mess with me."

He pulled his arm away, pulling out a knife laughed.

Man: "whys that?"

Something in my veins went cold as I kicked his hip and dodged under his knife, bringing his elbow around and twisting his arm behind his back.

Isabel: "because I was trained in self defense as a kid. And I run track plus I'm on a soccer team. I'm faster than a drunk pervert any day."

He was still bent down and the knife laid on the ground.

Man: "You freak! let me go."

I looked at the knife and shoved him.

Isabel: "If you want to kill me use a rainbow knife or something a little more stabulous and then itll go grape for you."

I laughed at my own joke, knowing it wasn't funny but I still smiled and walked home in the rain. When I got home I locked my door and took a warm shower then got dressed into some new jeans and  long sleeve shirt with no shoes because why would I wear shoes inside? I kind of just laid in bed and reached to the ceiling.

Isabel: "Do you watch me from heaven mom? Dad? I hope you're proud. I'm living just like you said to. I won't break my promise to you. I swear."

Slowly I closed my eyes, a tear rolling down my cheeks as I exhaled, I knew Simon would cover for me in classes and update me on drama if necessary later. I felt different today. Usually Just could hide the feelings inside me with that mask everyone knew me for and be happy, energetic, bubbly, and outgoing but I didn't feel like playing this was longer than needed. It just wasnt me. Slowly... My eyes closed and I fell into a deep sleep, one that would leave me more tired than when I fell asleep.
