Alone

Doors and windows are close
No people near in sight
The streets filled with silence
Everyone lives in fright.

Two months have passed
Since I have been isolating myself
Afraid of what will happen outside
Afraid of the things I might find.

News aired on television
Cases of people rushed to hospitals increases
Many have fought for their lives
And families are divided in this season.

Oh how I miss the laughter and bond
How we laugh at jokes or how one
clumsily does the dishes
It doesn't matter what time we'll go to bed
As long as there's a smile on our lips.
Wishing to be able to get back to the way things were.

Even so, let's not forget who needs our help.
Many have suffered from scarcity,
Who is trying to survive the pain,
Who is trying to fight alone,
Who craves affection
But know that we are all survivors
After this crisis, we are facing.

Note: My brother asks me to write something about the COVID-19 outbreak but I end up writing my experience and the things I have observed.
