[GARDNER helps AMY up]
GARDNER: I've got a ride. I hope you'd like home again, Colonel.
AMY: Glad to be.
[AMY, HAROLDSON and TYLER get on]
TYLER: It is a sad day for all of us.
AMY: I know your highness. I'll find who killed your mother.
TYLER: No. We.
[Scene changes. Car stops in the town square]
SERGEANT: Make way for the General and his royal highness!
[GARDNER exits first. The rest then exit. They salute]
GARDNER: Sergeant.
SERGEANT: General!
GARDNER: At ease.
[SERGEANT eases]
GARDNER: Status report?
[TONY enters the scene]
TONY: I believe I can give you that, sir.
[TONY salutes briefly. GARDNER salutes back]
AMY: Lieutenant.
[TONY nods at AMY]
GARDNER: What do you have?
TONY: We gathered intelligence from a hut near Area C0289 and got this.
[GARDNER takes letter and reads it]
GARDNER: They've been gathering intel. My worst fears confirmed, they are going to attack all major bases, towns and cities within' the Vicatian border.
TONY: Sir, with your permission I would like to take this to the Central Base Of Commands.
GARDNER: This really isn't a good time.
TONY: Sir?
[GARDNER sighs]
AMY: The master is dead.
TONY: How is this possible?!
GARDNER: Zertians can get anywhere. This was beyond our ability, Lieutenant.
[Silence]
TONY: What are we going to do now then?
GARDNER: We would do what the Master would have wanted us to do. Keep fighting.
TONY: Yes, sir.
[TYLER enters scene]
TONY: Your highness...?
TYLER: That's master now. You'll be taking orders from me. I want every single man you have General to defend this city.
GARDNER: But Master we are not equiped...
TYLER: Just do it! Why do you defy me?! I am you master! Do as I say or be revoked!
GARDNER: Yes master.
TYLER: I expect you to win or die trying.
[TYLER storms off]
TONY: He is just a kid! He can't be able to lead an army! He can't even see beyond the clouds! Sir, we have to do something! We have to act! If not then he is the death of us all!
GARDNER: We will do as he says. After all he is our master. We will mourn the loss of Anne but we will not take action under no circumstance, understand?
[TYLER is outraged]
TONY: Yes, sir. I understand.
[GARDNER salutes]
